I am both full size and remote controlled helicopter pilot (flying RC for more than 25 years) and this is the most accurate explanation that I have seen for this subject, congratulations!

Really great video! I was flying microhelis, the M2 and a M1 and now I have a M4 and have to learn all this stuff. I love your sense of humour. Your commentary: "Thats not ideal" when in the video the poor rest of the heli is falling down in slow motion after the tailstrike chopped of the tail was making my day!! Thanks a lot for giving me a good unexpected laughter!! 😀

Make sure "both" sides are consistent in tension. Also, "keep some spare" locknuts around and change them when they "feel too loose".

Great video very informative, question, I suppose this method tightening blade grips/clips would be also applicable to helis with more than 2 blades?

I’m a brand new rc helicopter pilot. I’ve owned fixed wings before. I have a FlyWing Bell 206 V3 and I for the life of my can’t completely get rid of a vibration on shutdown. It used to do it on spool up as well. I’ve adjusted the main blades many times and can’t seem to get it right although I’ve made it considerably better. Please help.

Excellent info man, thank you 💯 I was actually wondering about that for a while now. RC Stuff, I may I ask you for your advice. Every time I start over setting up my T-Rex 470 LP with the Brain2 FBL, the heli shows the same behavior. Please have a look at my newest short video, where I am showcasing my heli on the bench. Link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6yHi8Vi1ruZgWw.html I'm really interested in your take on especially the behavior of the tail slider (servo) and the cyclic servos. Would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Hey Dingo/TN, Never used the Brain or a Taranis Transmitter but I think it's normal behaviour for the tail to not centre at centre stick if you're in heading hold mode. It will re centre if it's in rate mode. Is that what you mean? For more info on the brain you can try West hobbies RC or I think a channel called RCflightZ has used the brain. You could try him.

@@RCStuffvideos You were right about the heading lock vs rate mode. Thank you 👍 The tail is centering now. Funny how there is so much text to read in the brain setup app, but it doesn't tell there's such a thing as rate mode and what the heck that means. Secondly: Auto Level can't be activated in Setup 1, seems like it's that way by default. WestHobbiesRC seems to not write back anymore for a while, idk, I hope I didn't get on his nerves :D The Brain developers don't respond to my question either, but we had communicated before, about the exact same issue while using a different tx/rx combo. This is why I shelled out the money for a Taranis and Archer rx 🙄☹ I'll try to contact RCflightZ, thank you for the tip 👍 Well, right now I am not really interested in how a heli behaves *with* the brain, I am rather interested in how an RC heli should behave in general. In videos, with the heli on the bench, people usually throw the sticks around to full deflection, but that's not what I want to see. So my question would be something like this: On a heli, when we deflect the right stick to let's say ~70% aileron, will the swashplate move to ~70% deflection or to 100%? Same with the tail. Because my tail and swashplate maxes already out when the sticks are only at roughly 30-40% of their max deflection.
@RCStuffvideos
@RCStuffvideos 2 жыл бұрын
@@Abszurdista-fatalista i think thats pretty normal. It would definitely depend on expo and pitch curve too. I think it would move more than expected because the fbl commands a rate of rotation and if the heli is static on the bench it's not rotating at all so it applies more input to keep trying. I'm not mechanical expert but i think it's something like that.

All my helicopters have the blades so tight you have to force them hard to fold them. In the words of SAB “you want them so tight you may have to use an Allen to loosen to fold”. This lead lag crap is a myth and I don’t know where it came from. But sock them up as tight as you can get them. Straighten them out before flight and trust me no matter how tight they will swing into place lol.
@nickdean468

Is this for all size models or the bigger size helli
@Ultimatevr123
@Ultimatevr123 Жыл бұрын
@@nickdean468 you don’t want the blades floppy on any size model, but the smaller helicopters don’t have the centrifugal force to throw the blades out straight when your spooling up if your blades are too tight, so it will Wobble like crazy. So not too tight on smaller helicopters.
