I saw them in 1976 or 1977. I also saw them at the Destroyer rehearsals when they rented out an aircraft hanger in Newburgh, New York. My buddies and I would hitchhike there and back (it was a different time). After the full dress rehearsal they came out in costume and gave us all autographs - except for Peter Criss. I guess he just couldn't be bothered.

"Love Gun" is KISS firing on all cylinders. The vocals, the lyrics, the bass line, the drums, the song's arrangement, the rhythm guitar... Ace's ascending line that culminates in those signature bends, then descends again is literally the musical interpretation of an orgasm. Please react to more KISS, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Fun fact. Paul Stanley actually played all of the instruments on the Demo song. KISS went in and played it almost note for note. If you look up the bass parts and how it was played you will see just how technical this song is. The drums were supposed to sound like a Tommy Gun in Concert. Early KISS was very much ,usical.

Love Gun is a good song to start with. Ace's lead is iconic. Why not go back to the beginning? Yeah. 1973. The first album. Strutter. First song. Do that one! I'm partial because I am a former pro musician and all my bands covered at least 1 Kiss song. I got to do lead vocals on Strutter for years. Same with Rock n Roll All Nite, Cold Gin and Black Diamond... though not any more than 2 with any particular band. Man... I miss those days. Kiss isn't profound they are just fun. The live show is where almost everybody got their current stage shows from. Pyrotechnics? Kiss did it first. Fire Breathing? Check. Blood vomiting? Check. Its a spectacle.

@@shawntennant6588 you're exagerating, I mean, to say it should be banned, there's worst songs (not necessary by kiss) it really need to be banned, for example that song by rebecca black is horrible and cringey too. at least rock and roll all night is acceptable

Hahaha, that song... Some years ago I drove around in the night and was finally following an army vehicle. I pulled down my windows and my CD player started to play "Love Gun" really, really loud... ^^

*Thrills in the Night* is good too. "Animalizer" was very underrated, but Mark St. John could shred with the best of 'em.

Kiss got big when I was 8 or 9 years old but my older aunt was a huge fan. I never learned to get into their music (except for Beth), but their stage show is a ton of fun! I’ve seen Kiss three times and never for the music..all for the show!

Most people today have no idea how absolutely HUGE these guys were in the 70s. None of their songs were very thought-provoking, but they WERE entertaining as hell. They were all really strong musicians back in the day too, and yes, their live shows were amazing.

This is my dad's all time favorite band. Has auction catalogs from them, taken me to multiple shows and has been apart of the Kiss Army since year one. He got offered a job on their cruise as a sound engineer but turned it down and me and his friends all yelled at him for not taking it. He really was stupid but I guess he follows that never meet your heros rule.
