I have definitely used a poncho liner in a poncho before. But it was much more common in Korea or Germany for soldiers to take a poncho liner and wet weather top down to a seamstress and have them use the poncho liner as a liner for the wet weather top. They would cut it up and sew it into the wet weather top and that made for a terrific cold weather jacket, warmer than a field jacket and better rain proofing. I also was a great fan of the old Army Parka, without the liner. It fit very loose and non-binding, light weight, and created a nice vapor barrier in cooler weather. And while no more water proof than a field jacket, it did dry out faster, so there was that.

Called it. I don't know how many hundreds of people I've argued with about 350 Legend over taking the 300blk for hunting. All of them thought I was crazy until I pointed out the ballistics, but most of them were 300blk fan boys who were married to the cartridge. Side, not 350 legend, does almost as good as 300blk in short barrel because they both use the same fast burning powders. It's more optional out of a 10" barrel as opposed to an 8".
@PineyJustice
@PineyJustice 7 ай бұрын
Correction, 350 legend beats 300 blackout at all barrel lengths, 300 black supers suffer badly in a sub 10" barrel as well, very few of the bullets for it will open up when they're only doing 1900 fps at the muzzle, which coincidentally a 350 legend also does out of a 7" barrel, but can be loaded with 158 grain xtp bullets which will expand to the size of a quarter at 1900 fps.
@Hoplopfheil

@@PineyJustice Funny, seeing you here and not arguing in the comment section of one of my videos 🤣. I was more or less referring to the point of diminishing return on barrel length, for example, and these numbers are hypothetical, say you have an 8" barrel, and you go to a 9" barrel, you might gain something like 50 FPS but if you had a 16" barrel and you go to a 17" barrel, you might only get and extra 25 FPS. So, at some point, there is a diminishing return for velocity in regard to barrel length. 350 Legend has more case capacity, so more powder. Thus, it takes a little bit longer of a barrel before we hit the point of diminishing return. You do have a good point. Most 30 cal bullets won't open up at 300blk velocity.

I adjusted the sling to be tighter than you typically would for a rifle or SBR. Instead of pulling the pistol in close like you would a rifle, I found that if I pushed it out against the sling and indexed my cheek on the tube, it worked really well. Not too dissimilar to how you'd use an MP5 PDW punched forward against the sling.

They're only thinking about hypothetical mass murderers and what changes would make them less effective. You know, instead of putting that time and effort into making a society that doesn't make people dread the future. People commit violent crimes because there's no default they can settle into and live a life in which they can feel secure. That's true regardless of demographic. The combination of inflation, labor value diffusion to outside economies, and the death of apoliticality has created a culture of people who hold beliefs they can't live up to, who insist upon hard moral lines and unachievable ideological purity as the solution. And it has convinced them that their particular variety is one catalyzing moment from being set in history. They're not actually mentally ill. It's moral alienation.

The local sheriff doesn't even come out that far unless he's called. I did invite him out one time and a week or so later he came out and shot with me.

3:26 if your “poncho” is essentially a tarp, you can route the drawstrings of the poncho/tarp through the eyelets of the unzipped poncho liner to make a “ranger roll” where you have the waterproof (your experience may vary) tarp exterior and the heat insulation of the poncho liner. Draping it over you to block light escaping when doing map checks at night is also a reason for a ranger roll… if you’re into that sort of thing

With a sling attached, you adjust it so you can press out against the sling to stabilize the pistol. Israeli EP operators wear a lanyard with a loop around their neck. After drawing their Glock, they hook their thumb through the loop and use it to stabilize the pistol for better accuracy. It's a great, simple system that has been around a long time. Next the ATF will be going after slings and lanyards.

Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic, with a shall-issue permit, you can walk out of a store with a short-barreled rifle, suppressor and some regular capacity magazines. And nobody would mind. Whereas in the " Land of the free ", you arent allowed to have more than 10 rounds and a water gun can send you to jail in 25 states if it has a pistol grip.

So... how about just having a scarf just resting on your shoulder? Then the buffer tube remains unmodified but you have a piece of clothing. Then you take it to the furthest extreme. Build a socket that velcros to your jacket that just happens to line up with the buffer tube. Done! Then the ATF will start picking your clothes too? Probably!
