Removie the parasite mod they will get stronger in time to be move faster then cave dweller and can one shot you. try to replace it with something else.

Fighting the cave dweller typically requires a shield. You two could overwhelm him if you both have shields and just wail on him.

i would recommend getting a gravestone mod so that all your items go into a safe storage so you don't have to worry about item despawns because of any danger
