It is important to mention that it is: WEST AFRICAN. To say it is AFRICAN is misleading. For example, people in Morocco, Egypt, Congo, Mozambique or Ethiopia don't have Jollof rice. Also, plantain does not grow all over Africa. Africans are not a homogeneous species. Africans, like other groups of the human race, come in different ethnicities, cultures and the cuisine is vastly different from region to region.

Nah Nigerian and big fan of that combo like I’d go mental if it was tossed in like that so maybe too the side:)
@divinegiftchukwudi5544 ай бұрын
It's mostly fried and served by the side of the rice, not tossed into the rice while cooking
@BlessedOne6862 ай бұрын
I have never seen it served with plantain. If you like plantain like me, you wouldn’t necessarily mind. But even still, it is preferred as a side.

When it's not gizdodo, please keep the dodo by the side of the rice. We know you want to be unique, but some rules should remain unbroken. Don't giz the dodo in any kind of jollof rice.

Since when did Nigerians start cooking hollow this way😮. I mean since when did Nija put rice in sauce before water?? Also when did nija start cooking jollof with long grain rice/ perfume rice. Just curious because the nija people I know cook different than this and with a certain kind of big yellow parboil rice.
