Here in Spain we have a bad portrayal of men shown through Media, Social Media and Popular Culture since 2006, more or less. It is innacurate, malicious and wrong. What they did was to push for 2 ways of showing men; the "all men bad" and "men MUST be perfect". Boys began to absorb and struggle with a huge list of delusional requirements while girls were told to be thirsty and search for those men and those men ONLY... Results? a country with delusional and narcisistic young women not finding their "prince", plus young men getting out from the dating market, which is why we have the majority of them with no intentions of commitment. (also bad laws, rules, policies and social propaganda against stable relationships and men in general).

Alex - you should do a video about the Mouse Utopia experiment... and draw the correlations between modern society. Masculinity likes femininity... and that isn't limited to humans, so it has nothing to do with society, social norms, etc. A woman also doesn't need "boss-b energy" for/at her career... In some ways, "nurturing energy" can be even better, especially in management.

That is what has happened in the U.S. To go back to where it started, it was Ronald Reagan. He ushered in "Trickle Down" and "Greed is Good" capitalism. Giving ever more to the top 10% and especially the 1% has really screwed up the whole way of American life. Wages are kept very low for the vast majority to funnel always more to the upper class. They get all the tax breaks, 80% of any tax cuts, everything goes to the wealthy in this country and they always want more. Take Sean Hannity loves capitalism. Why? Well partly because with all his unearned wealth, he buys residential housing. Of the 800+ residential properties he owns, he can deduct all the costs of owning them, plus, he gets to depreciate every one of them every year. If you scrimp and save for a down payment, you as a worker cannot deduct those things at all, not a penny. Republicans did that. Everything is geared to give the wealthy more at the cost of the worker here. Every Republican tax cut for the wealthy, they added directly to the deficits for you to owe. That is the way it is when Republicans run things. As far as relationships go, yes, Republican policies are why women have to work now. If you do not want to deal with the wackiness of it, do what I did. I went to the Philippines and married a gal from the provinces. They just do not make problems like American gals do, their priorities are for the family, theirs and yours. American gals are only for themselves.

For the 300,000 years prior to this modern Age of the C imp, they were kept in line by simply using the physical force that the one gender had more of. The biology of the stronger gender also demanded that the gender that bore children be protected and provided for. Groups that did not protect and provide for the child bearers did not last long. The child bearers of this group did not evolve with much pressure to moderate their behavior. This was not necessary because the moderation was provided by the stronger gender.

@@sirtrevisSo your saying the women didn't have to be responsible for themselves or their actions? Sounds like the men had to babysit them. Well in this modern age where women demand equality, it's time for them to grow up. They need to accept responsibility for themselves and their actions, and we do see a complete lack of accountability in todays modern women especially the ones who don't need no man. If someone has unresolved trauma or issues that prevent them from being in a healthy relationship it's up to them to resolve that,not just blame everyone else for it. Modern relationships will not be healthy and fulfilling until both men and women learn this,and adjust their behavior accordingly. That's my honest opinion anyway,whatever it's worth.

I live in a used camper with disabilities and grow whatever I can, no car, so I order supplies and if I want fresh vegetables, fruits, or berries I have to grow them. Thankfully there was already a large wild blackberry patch here when I moved. I planted a dozen more fruit trees this year, strawberries, asparagus, various onion types, all sorts of peas/beans, things for salads, potatoes, lots of carrots, 2 types of ground cherries, and started a garlic patch. I`m basically in a survival prepping mode here and have solar too for the basics because of hurricanes.

Now you just need about 20-25 laying hens and 3-4 roosters. Got to have the 'roos to fertilize the eggs to produce more birds. Birds are small and easy to process into much needed proteins. The eggs (if you don't was them) can sit on the counter for up to 4 months. They generally don't need much room and keep the bad insects to a minimum (more crop yield). Just some information for you to chew on. Good luck friend and be well.

Like in Canada the immigration policy is insane, so the demand for houses is increasing a lot more than the offer, thus it pushes the home prices and rents higher and higher. And the worst, this immigration is so intense that we do not have the capacity to integrate them in our society so they create their own communities. We are ending up with many small countries in the country. This is the perfect scenario for more internal social conflits and no cultural unity. Chaos is not far.

The past that this young people are nostalgic for was far, far less comfortable and luxurious than they admit. Most households with a full-time homemaker, got away with one car which was shared by the parents. The idea of teenagers having their own cars would have been laughed at. Most households with a full-time homemaker had modest homes; they didn't have a separate bedroom for everyone, instead siblings shared a bedroom. Most meals were prepared and consumed at home. Eating out was a special treat for special occasions. Wardrobes were smaller and more basic. No one in the entire household had a computer workstation and a TV in their separate bedrooms. No one. Today's graduates expect larger homes with more bedrooms. They expect everyone of driving age to have their own cars. They eat out constantly and don't cook at home. They expect international vacations. So coming from someone who worked their way through undergraduate and graduate education and someone who paid every penny of school loan debt. Cry me river, and, while you are at it. Pay your school loan debts, !

Alexander’s point on housing pricing: He stated there have been advancements and today’s houses are constructed better. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. In fact, most churches of old in US could never be constructed as they were modern day. True brick (3 wythe) houses and buildings were common, sporting oak 2 bys and flooring. Victorian house flooring is extremely valuable, as those boards can span an entire room while being 8 or more inches. The brick alone of these houses would costs hundreds of thousands to have laid. The sheathing of my house is 1” oak paneling ranging from 16 to 2 feet in width. You will never get that now. I Iay brick for my living by the way. We had to start laying veneer brick over wood structure to reduce labor and cost. Cheapening every little facet possible, yet the pricing continues to rise. Now, cultured stone and thin brick are replacing veneer brick. From massive, 6 bedroom 3 bath Victorian houses with 3 layer brick walls to 2-3 bedroom 1 bath cardboard siding houses where you can hear your neighbors banging across the street. I will grant you that foundations and roofing are built better though.

@@Ryan-cb1ei As a retired builder I'd largely agree with you. Building codes have gotten much stricter for multi-family and particularly for 3 story buildings and higher all for safety. Fire safety for instance has gotten much better. Single family houses though have not experienced this to the same degree. A big reason is building organizations have fought higher standards to keep down coast and raise profits. Even in hurricane ravaged areas like the coastal areas on the Gulf of Mexico in the U.S. codes continue to be weaker than they should be IMO. But better more storm resistant houses cot more money to build.

@@dantimber Nice to see someone with experience validate this. It was honestly just an educated guess for me. It makes sense that apartment buildings would have stricter standards now than in the past, and I know for a fact these newer buildings are just better and sturdier due to better access to certain materials and many innovations. But those single family or unit houses… America’s relationship with single family housing is terrible. We need to stop building so many first of all, but I noticed even in my area they just build them in a rush now to cater to older folk and the upper middle class who has the money. It’s a money grab and you can tell they cut corners.
@dantimber
@dantimber 2 ай бұрын
@@Ryan-cb1ei Yes, 40 years. There are about a half dozen building code inspections during various phases of house construction. The problem in my view though is the code is too lenient, especially with coastal properties exposed to hurricanes. After Hurricane Andrew (Cat 5) in South Florida in the early 1990's only a couple of counties adopted requirements like reinforced concrete. The rest of the state still allows wood frame construction (although with more strapping) even today after Category 5 Hurricane Michael in 2018. Insurance cost would come down with concrete construction but the cost of building goes up. So a home owner pays more for a concrete house but they pay less over time for insurance. Builders, developers, politicians, and business people all want more growth and they can get it by allowing cheaper construction methods and material even knowing the consequences. Regarding lumber it is true many houses in the first half of the 1900's were built with much higher quality lumber like heart pine. That lumber is no longer available. Today most houses are built with so-called 'lodgepole' SPF. Depending all where you live it will be a species of Spruce, Pine, or Fir. To give you an idea of it's strength framers call them 'toothpicks' as they are so lightweight. They are multiples easier to cut and nail. To be fair they have adequate vertical (end on end) strength but nothing on the order of lumber from days gone by.

I have no sympathy. i've spent my whole life working for minimum wage because they were the only jobs I could get, and nobody gave a second thought to considering I might be able to do more than just what other people tell me to do. Now I'm debt free, no dependent, no mortgage, no "house", cash in the bank, 30K of credit cards with zero balance, and able to move in a second to go where the work is. Deal with it folks!!!

I hate to break it to you pal but if you think everything we buy now is better you are sorely mistaken. I am a Repairman and a handyman by trade. this is my profession and I'm very good at my job period it is not better. they're selling you things that are made to look better. the internal components of machines and things that they make houses out of and materials are simply not better. in fact they are often much much worse. Even the studs they build houses out of are a half inch thinner on all dimensions then they were 50 years ago. But they still call them 2 by 4. We are living in a delusion

@@david667766 not all products, but many that are used in home repairs are worse. There are some things that are definitely better. I would say water supply lines are probably better for what they cost compared to 50 years ago. Pecks is definitely an improvement in terms of its versatility and usefulness over copper. However copper is incredible and last forever if installed correctly. The problem is you have a lot of terrible plumbers now who don't really know what they're doing and are happy to use SharkBite garbage in order to get a job done.

The problem is most raises are based on cost of living increases and most employers base raises on the government CPI. The government CPI has been proven to under represent inflation by about 5%. Imagine losing that much in purchasing power every year. 100K job 20 years ago is now getting $150K with 2% cost of living raises but with true inflation at 7% they should be getting $386K.

@5:52 "imagine a scenario where home prices crashed..." I want to add to your scenario to make it more applicable to modern women. "Housing prices crash, owners stubbornly keeping prices high. While simultaneously allowing any random unworthy person use of the house for fun and recreation, without payment and discarding it in worse condition."

I remember thinking that it was impossible to get into the property market 20 years ago, just as I left school. Prices were crazy. You have to find a way to get into the property market asap - get in on that growth. I bought 1 bed apartments and rented them out to supplement my income, whilst still living with my parents. Find a way to get in as quickly as you can so that you smile every time the prices go up. Even if you buy with a group of friends.

I own three cars from the 1950s. They don't make them like they used to, thank goodness. All three literally have a solid steel 3/4 inch skewer built into the steering column that is bolted to the frame and pointed at the driver's chest. I love driving them on nice days but they aren't much safer than my motorcycle.
