The Pvkv IV in War Thunder is a Swedish Medium Tank that's barely a Light Tank. Sweden in War Thunder are known for their weird designs that really work well. Imagine my surprise when this thing turned out to be an ABSOLUTE DISASTER!
First off, yes... it does have 179mm of penetration at 3.7! But, none of that matters when the APDS shell from the Pvkv IV hardly does any damage. Couple that with its really poor angle pen performance which means you'll struggle to take care of T-34 KV-1 and Shermans, I think you get the idea!
However, the Pvkv IV cannon is not the issue. The issue is that it's slow, has worse than no armor and the gun handling is the worst of any tank in the entire game! Although it was bad, I did have a lot of fun in this thing trying to struggle my way through games and it did yield some really funny moments in War Thunder!

I love how the smoke coming off the destroyed tanks are tranquilly drifting in one direction, but the trees are bobbing, weaving and shaking in every which way like hurricane winds are blowing, and yet then trees maybe 30 meters away are completely still.

Yes ..in war thunder land the wind is completely random. One side of the map is tornadic winds blowing from all directions ..only 30 meters away no wind. I wish they would remove this "feature"

2:45 I love how Gaijin says they "made the wind effect in trees more realistic". But every match looks like you're in a tropical storm now. Used to be tanks were the bushes that moved. Now tanks are the bushes that *don't*.

The pen values must be wrong for the APHE. It has the same pen as the Pvkv III despite having a longer barrel lol.

I have a theory I call "The conservation of fun in WT" See fun cannot be created or destroyed and there is a finite amount of fun. So all the fun that can ever be had has already been had in WT. This also means if you are having fun in WT that means someone else is not having fun in WT in a one to one proportion. Thus the only way to have fun in WT is to make someone else not have fun.

Whenever I see a bunch of players on my team shooting at each other, MGs or main guns and cutting back and forth, I assume we're losing. I'm rarely wrong. Worst games I've been in start with me getting shot in the rear three or four times from my supposed team mates while leaving spawn.

When I have a tank with awful sights I typically use my binoculars to make hits. I hold down left click so when I press B to exit the binocs I shoot immediately. I will typically preemptively range find before the shot but sometimes I just guesstimate. Works pretty decently

Spaded it recently myself, all i can say is a lower BR and faster turret rotation speed would be a godsend. I would go back in time and slap the engineers that designed it for not giving it some kind of assisted turret.

I got this a couple days ago and man, I very nearly almost lost a 1v1 against a BTR-152 from the front when I struggled to get the tank to turn around on a very slight uphill, and then he killed most of my crew and somehow didn't do any more damage as my gunner was being replaced. I then missed my main cannon shot because of the crap gun handling and then I ended up machine gunning him to death somehow.

This is one of a few vehicles I have put the "The Nightmare" decal on. I reserve it for only the crapiest of vehicles that I just can't seem to have fun in. I've gotten round shattered from this things APDS at less than 100m distance against pickup truck AA's. It's only redeeming quality is that the barrel hitbox is wonky enough in the decal screen that I was able to stick my blinky light on top of it and the drone on the bottom of it.

I currently try to climb the Swedish tree and now have the full Panzer, T34, Sherman line-up for 3.7, and it is either really fun, or just a chain death march, because 3.7 has a dedicated newbie farming community, that will lock down your spawn, at least if the map has no cover towards the flags. I will stock up with some SPAs; They are needed.

I am going to lay it out as it is. Its the handling of the M41Gun tank and the M10 TD combined with the protection of a locust. I expect the other Swedish 57mm's are going to get this round, go up in BR to where this thing is because their armor doesn't generally fuse APHE all that well, this things going to take the place of the old swedish low tier td's.

Well, in its current state it very well may, bit given that this is a completely botched implomentation, I hope they manage to improve it later on, giving the rounds the pentration they actually should have and making the turret traverse not driven by a one-armed 7-year-old.

To be honest, I got stuck at STRV 74 recently, I manage to grind it fully but yet still suck at it, don't know if it's my problem or that tank were really hard to carry...the engin on it is really bad, the turning speed was horrible too, especially on the hill, which should be the kind of location that it should have great performance. The two good thing on that tank is it got a nice APDS which often cant kill people but you still need to use it and it can scout.
