Was expecting more details on the bike itself. What tubing it is? What geometry, why one tubing over the other etc etc. appreciated
@diablocds13 жыл бұрын
The tubing is Zona which I chose for it's longevity, rigidity, smooth ride etc, It's chosen a lot since it's just tried and true for a bike you're going to use. My Kalavinka is Kasei 8630 which IMHO is much nicer but it's also much more delicate, so I chose Zona this time so I could abuse the bike a bit more. The video is the story of how I got the bike but not the bike itself. I'll make a bike check video on it to go over the other things that you're looking for :) thanks for the comment.

@Christopher Sisti Dude. I’ve been wanting a Samson real bad but the way the forks look on most of them make it seem like I’d hit my feet on the front wheel when taking sharp turns or doing track stands. Have you ever had this issue?
@diablocds1 Жыл бұрын
So it’s not about the fork it’s about the geometry and size of the frame. If it’s a small frame you’re going to have toe overlap. If it’s a tiny frame you’ll have massive toe overlap but people deal with this. Whether it’s Samson or specialized it’ll have this. My bikes have very little toe overlap but that has to do with the size of my frame (57.5x55.5), having normal track geo and having 165mm crank arms. Hope this helps!

Nice bike love the build and the story behind it..... but when u put clip less pedals on your NJS build it’s not really a NJS bike it’s just a bike with a stamp. If u put in $2200 on a NJS at least put toe clip pedals on to give the real NJS complete. It makes sense to put clip less on your NJS bike for practical reasons but then again u could just buy an aluminum frame with a carbon fork, a tapered head set, and buy an “aro wheel” but u didn’t because u like the culture behind the bike and the same reason y I have built a NJS bike with track drops and grips because of the culture so please just put a little less practicality on your bike for the culture lol
@diablocds13 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not lol you do you though! 😄
@rollinrat48503 жыл бұрын
I remember being locked into my pedals long ago. Fear is not nostalgic, but I dig grow accustomed to it. Now I ride fixed gear on rough mtb trails mostly. Locked onto pedals is not an option. I dig simple old bikes, but I ride what's practical and what allows me to spend more time in the saddle. Everything I ride is ridden hard and often put away wet. I ride fixed because it's reliable and requires the least maintenance along with a bunch of other reasons. It's just another machine.
