@@SolidPlay This. It might be useful to explain the general mechanics but those are basically "Get and stack the buffs that help you the most and take debuffs/penalties that don't matter.". Army composition also depends a lot on your nation. I mean in this video he plays a horde so he has a lot of cavalry. In a normal game with like say the Ottomans he would have more traditional armies. It also depends a lot on the economy of your country what's feasible. Sometimes you just have to recruit the cheapest troops in numbers and hope for the best.

@@simoncolin5939 The one that is basically "Get max back row artillery and 2 or 4 cavalry with the rest infantry to fill the front row."? That one is very good at crushing armies in the field but you shouldn't use it for sieges for the reason you mentioned. I'm not sure what's optimal for sieges but you shouldn't use many more troops than the minimum to keep attrition low. Unless you already have more manpower than you know what to do with. Then it doesn't matter.

Hit them until they form a coalition. Then hit them for forming a coalition. AE problem solved

Bear in mind that your game might not be as similar as his. The AI might have conquered more land or had stronger alliances or you might have bad dice rolls.

When I did a run at this the Tribal rebels just got completely out of control. in the 1600's I was getting over 200K worth of Rebels. I did horde ideas, as well as humanist. Not sure why this happened.

As always, great guide (hordes will always be OP). Another good thing I found about the 5:30 peace deal is that when ming get one of the 3 majors revolt event (dali, south or shun), all of their non-borders tributaries will break free (they get a specific event), so easy conquest after

I tried this and Ming basically sieged my entire county before I got Beijing and then it was all uphill until rebels took my entire country, I couldn't get enough manpower to restore order

In my game, either my leader dies before the war, or I capture the chinese emperor and he dies in battle and the event doesn't trigger, or I have to restart 100x times... pain

Funny thing that did notice in my recent Knights achievement run is that sometimes the AI switches leaders between armies or makes the general go away if it's not in a favorable army size. Did you notice this any time, Ludi?

diplo admin allows for faster expansion, diplo lowers warscore cost and penalties for truce breaking/no cbing, etc. Admin lowers core creation cost and with other modifiers that u stack from monuments and such you end up with ridiculously cheap province coring costs and times. I was coring most provinces in less than 1 and a half years, with the low dev ones in a few months.

Even before watching the video I had a feeling that the "Bank of Ming" would feature prominently. You didn't disappoint. Being one of Ludi's generals doesn't look like a very secure job. Did you support Transoxiana's independance? Shouldn't they break free easily in that case? The "Nations can't join coalitions if they don't exist." advise reminds me that "In every MMORPG death is the best CC.".

If he would've supported the independence, he would have been in a war with an AI Transoxiana as a leader, which is horrible as you can't stop the war, and he would've ended up with a truce with Transoxiana whenever the war would've ended. What he did here was faster and less painful to do.

@@kaltaron1284 truce breaking is always an option except it costs 5 stability. Also I think "support independence" -wars are the only wars in the game you can't decline. So its either you eat 5 comets or play by the book.

i currently have a bug in my eu4 mughal campaign (1570) where certain nations like some of my vassals lose their "knowledge" of me, making me unknown for them. they appear to have tech 0 0 0 all of the sudden and i cant diplomattically interact with them (instead clicking on their diplo leads me to the diplo of a diffrent nation). does someone have a fix? restarting didnt work

Nice video Ludi. How do you handle the religious unity in case of hordes though? Do you think it's better to be Confucian other than Tengri as that let's you Harmonize other religions?

I got the Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan achievement as Kazan but it took me all the way up to the time limit before the Age Absolutism lol I had like two years left to do it =p Oirat is definitely incredibly op, gotta play them sometime

My Oirat > Great Yuan went perfect until I wanted to enact the decision “Reform Great Yuan”. One of the condition is to control all the Oirat, Khorchin and all other Altaic culture groups either as Oirat or via your vassals, the problem is that somehow an oirat culture spawned in the middle of the Caucasian region, under the rule of massive Ottoman Empire. What are my options now? This is soo frustrating.

Ok, after several tries I finally caught their emperor and he didn't die while I was waiting for Beijing siege.. After I finally sieged Beijing, nothing happened.. Don't know if something changed again with the last dlc/patch, but it really sucks 🙄
