Firstly, thank you all for all kind reactions on previous video. I'm a bit overwhelmed with how many people messaged me to make a new one with season 4. So here you go... I hope I won't let you all down.
Unlike many I'm not really disappointed in the ending. It all felt very normal people to me and I just believe that they'll find each other again. I mean, ... they're each other's persons. What I didn't like it the amount of screentime and dramatic moments. I felt like we really needed more small moments between the two of them and they sometimes even felt a bit OOC.
I REALLY thought at the hospital with Maeve's mom we'd have gotten and "you waited" that would have been so perfect. And a "I love you, of course I do." would have been the cherry on top.
I felt like the whole core group was really seperated this season and that's something I didn't really like. And it would have been absolutely great to see Otis not ending up completely alone in his room. Like Eric should have arrived and Otis should have told him "maeve and I had sex" and then the camera could zoom out on his reaction being all "OMG OATCAKE TELL ME ALL" and it would have felt so bittersweet & full circle. I still love these two angstbirds with all my heart and this video is just me processing their entire story. Sorry about the length.
At first I had a different song in the beginning but I wasn't truly convinced and then I did something super uncreative and put the song on it I used in previous video and it just clicked for me, so sorry about that but it's their anthem haha. Let's just agree to disagree that I've updated the previous video.

In my head canon Maeve and Otis will see other people but neither will be able to say 'I love you' to any of them and after 5 years Maeve will glance over at the now out of date 5 year diary and realize she has to celebrate a Birthday again and turns up on Otis' doorstep, both older, wiser and ready to accept their paths run alongside each other. I'm available for script writing whenever you need me. Just sayin.

The writer of the show itself kinda pointed it out that after 10 years there might be a spin off where otis and maeve are together she just didnt want it to be qhen they are 17 cuz at that age u don't find your soulmate

For people sad about the ending Laurie said in an interview she always thought Otis and Maeve found eachother again in 10 years time ( and yes I know that’s again a reference to Maeve’s essay from s2) so if Laurie has her way and gets her sequel spin-off they sorta will get their happy ending, she just didn’t want to give them it yet cause of them being young and 17

It saddens me that they didn't end up with one another, but I know they'll love each other for the rest of their lives. They shared such a deep, emotional connection that allowed them to grow. Same here, I seek comfort in one of my favorite quotes that is actually so simple, "the story isn't over". The TV-show may be over, but you have to keep in mind that the rest of the story is up to our interpretation. They could and likely will cross paths again. If I were to speculate I would say that Otis will sooner or later realize what his dad said about holding on to the people that you love and that he doesn't have to stay in one place forever

Very true. You have encapsulated what I truly think will happen between Otis and Maeve later on. I find it hard to believe that they will never return to one another, and I'm sure in time they will find a way to reunite. That's entirely up to us however, so we can always imagine. The scene between Otis and Remi - I haven't expanded upon this at all, but it is such vital moment because we learn the truth about Otis, from his dad. We understand where his anger stems from and why he doesn't want to follow in his Father's footsteps. "You know when you're young, you think that everyone out there, really gets you. But you know, actually, only a handful of them do." Words to live by. @@antons7210

@@antons7210 I find it somewhat poetic that otis's dad, who's one of the worst people in the show, for what he did to his family, his books, etc., could give Otis such a deep and helpful advice. I was really touched by that father son moment the first time and I still get shivers whenever I hear that again

Never really been a watcher of edits but this one is just so amazing. I remember watching your one from 2 years ago and I forgot I could possibly feel that much. Thank you for making this one for season 4 it was absolutely perfect. I’m with you imagining they meet up sometime in the future.

The only thing i regret bout the show is the date should have been the one thing that was perfect i was fine with the ending and all i get it nobody finds their soulmate at that age but rhat Joanna shud have never been near that date man
