The ending was disappointing. The makers really took a brave step. Otis and Maeve's wasn't just an attraction. They truly loved each other and didn't want to hold each other behind. This show and their story will always remain in my heart! ❤

Otis and Maeve truly admired and loved one another. The scenes they had together were some of the best in the entire show, and it’s a shame the way the show ended the way it did. They deserved to be together and happy 😭

Does anyone else feel that the last season was just weird? It felt so disconnected from the first 3 seasons, it was completely different and I didn’t like it compared to S1-3. There’s only a few scenes that I really enjoyed, the whole Otis and Maeve storyline this season sucked, like why couldn’t they end up together. I totally understand the Maeve wanting to go back to America and finishing her writing course but I honestly believe her and Otis are endgame and should’ve ended up together. The whole last season seemed really pointless to me, where was the character growth, we don’t see where the characters end up, if they passed their exams, their careers, nothing, they could’ve just ended with S3 and that would’ve been better. I needed more Otis and Maeve scenes, they seemed to go back and forth this season, like they couldn’t make their minds up if they wanted to be together, be jealous, or fight about stupid stuff. Considering they took 3 whole seasons to get together and it’s what the fans wanted, they basically fight, apologise and then are together for a bit and then break up in the second last episode you would think that the writers would do a better job, and make them a priority this season. I just felt like the whole Otis and Maeve storyline just took a back seat this season, which was so disappointing to see, they should’ve been endgame, such a horrible way to end a phenomenal series!

I think this was the most realistic ending that could have happened. That being said, I think we don't want it to be realistic! We already have our real lives for that. We watch shows like that to make us cling onto that little bit of hope and make us feel a little better inside. A happy ending would be nice either between Maeve/Ruby, I guess we can only hope something works out down the line for the characters

I honestly hated Otis and Maeve's relationship. After a while it just felt like it was dragging on and on. What really did it for me was in season 4 when Otis stated being afraid that Maeve wouldn't come back, that she would leave him behind. She assured him she was coming back but when the possibility of getting the apprenticeship came up it was like, "Well I changed my mind." Seriously? I don't know, I always felt Maeve never saw Otis in her future but he served as someone she needed at the time. Not saying she didn't love him, but someone to fill the emptiness in her heart.

Reminds me of Normal People. Heartbreaking but they had to move on.

The letter totally destroy my every hope for a happy ending.

It was a realistic ending, is how life usually works no happy endings just stages in life and this are the kind of things that help us to mature and follow our path

i really liked them in s1 and 2 but s3 and 4 really didn't have that spark anymore. i'm glad they ended the way they did.

Maeve saw everyone else other than Otis, he was just her safety blanket to where she can fall back onto.

3rd season is best but ending is also good and deep indeed!!

During season 1 Otis dairy has written Otis and meave... when Mrs Melbourne checked his room.... n season 3 Otis told his mum there is someone named Meave who is very important to him ........ Just connects the dots 🤔😄😊💕

We need some sort of special/feature film in a couple of years that catches up with them and their lives and gives them one more chance to end up together.

Staying together does not mean being happy. Moreover nothing is permanent in this world but what remains same in love, respect and memories people have. I wish Otis and Maeve would end up together but it was clear as sky that it was not working. So love the ending. As it reminds me 'heard melodies are sweet but those unheard are sweeter'. 😢

I am broken after seeing 4th season 😭😭😭

I'm surprised so many people wanted them to finish together. Their chemistry felt kind of forced somewhere between the end of season 2 and the start of season 3. They played the will they / won't they card for so long that they've build up way too much awkward interactions and all kind of betrayals or misunderstanding at that point that I wasn't buying it by that time. The show miraculously got it right with Maeve's letter at the end after 2 seasons of grasping straws in the dark and a disastrous 4th season for me. The letter moment should have come at the end of season 2 and explore the growth of both character outside that missed relationship in the last two seasons. Both had fear of commitment and serious relationship. Both cracked the heart of each to be open about it. We just lingered too much on that. Should have explored those deep issues, specially with Otis. I think there was a lot of missed opportunities to truly mend his deep wounds with his parents relationship and in parallel his lack of commitment with Ruby when the show kept showing us how more meaningful Ruby really was and how simple and caring Otis and her were, while Otis still having issues. I think the missed opportunity was there instead. And I won't talk about the rest of season 4.

I get it like what’s realistic and all that. But why spend 4 seasons with the slow and steady will they won’t they story for these two. Finally have them together. And then break them up in the season they finally get together

All Maeve did was use Otis to fill a void until she no longer needed him. He was a comfort blanket for her to fall back on. She never truly loved him

I wanted to see Ruby And otis together but nothing happened like that.. And season 4 was just boring and waste of time for me

Most disappointing ship in history. This is what happens when you take too long to give the fans what they want. We wanted them together in S2 but they kept starving us until nobody cared about them. We Ruby x Otis was so much better and they ruined that too. This show just kept getting worse and worse. Tragic !
