It's actually crazy how excited I am to get this lens. Makes you realise how many unimpressive releases we've had lately, and how high the bar is now. Everything is so good that the coolest thing about this lens is the price!

Had no idea the zoom was swapped. It’s like that on the 16-35 gm and hated ittt. But a decent price for what it is. And deciding wether to pull the trigger on the 24-70 Gmii or this lens.

Kofi thank you for the review. Sony need to release a 16-50mm or a 15-50mm f2.8 at the same price. That would give a better usage and range. Can you confirm that the toggle button probably does work while you are shooting? or do you have to stop the recording like most Sony cameras.

Good call ! It hasn’t happened to me, but I remember hearing about dust getting into the lens that might be a problem? (I also can be fully wrong) Only other differences would be 50-70mm and things like focus breathing comp

I want to be critical of this lens but I can’t. This size and price cut is pretty impressive. That said, I think the video example looked amazing but the more I get into filmmaking the more I’m digging the character of say my poor man’s K35 Canon FD S.S.C set paired with my Sony FS7. If you have it in your budget, get it. But for anyone that’s reading this, you can ball on a budget today in a way that wasn’t possible 25 years ago when I was a noob to the industry. ✌🏼

One day someone will come out with an IS-equipped zoom lens (other than the 24-105) so my FX6 footage doesn't look like an earthquake without worrying about a damn RS3, but it is not this day.

I handheld the Fx6 all the time, it’s not horrible IS wise when I build it out like a tank Then again, that’s not always someone’s first choice 😅

Tamron 20-40 gives you more or less a 24-50G, but for half the cost.

I never notice the difference ; i had the 20mm G lens for 2 years and never once noticed , but then again idk WHY g masters are so good

@@KofiYeboah You mentioned the anamorphic adapter and it's really worth trying. I recently put an 1.33 adapter on a Sony G lens om the FX30 and the autofocus still worked, through the adapter. It only works without the desqueeze turned on, as soon as you hit desqueeze the focussing is locked to manual.
