What do you MEAN Bennett Foddy's music? Moonsong is a classic Daisuke Amaya track! There's even pixel art of Quote in the thumbnail, and they did On To Grasstown in the balloon room. You really need to play Cave Story, it's a classic platformer.

Day 158 of posting a cool animal fact: The word moose comes from the Algonquian word for bark eater/one who strips bark! For some context Algonquin are a native American tribe that live in eastern Canada. Much of what people stereotypically associate with native Americans comes from them along with the Cherokee people.

But Moonsong is Cave Story, not Getting Over It. And it's not Bennet Foddy's either, the game was made by a sole Japanese indie developer. Fantastic game with a fantastic soundtrack, btw.

While the music and pixel art reference was Cave Story, the level design type is referred to as a "Bennett Foddy" type level, with lots of tight platforming. In this case, it was drastically cut back on the difficulty because it's an NYMM level, and they are usually intended for all tiers of skill.

@@KainYusanagi Oh yea I know that. I put like 20 hours into the game and gave up.. I could reliably get to the orange without too much issue. The hardest part is what I think they call Devils Chimney with the lamps. That section is brutal. It could happen in 30 seconds or take me 20mins... God I hate that section

I don't know why but you mentioning speedrunning reminded me of a run I saw in person at AGDQ, I think it was System Shock 2? But anyway, they had this bug that made the screen tilt and about half way through they were like "I'm sorry, this is making me feel sick, I have to start over" and they did.

The Beach Mice level was using the cool mechanic to show the Mice transitioning (hence why the trans flags) so no D: Which also makes me laugh at 16:55 because it's like Panga unintentionally doesn't want the beach mice to be trans LMAO

D: 21:19 - For those who don't get the reference, Moonsong is the theme song for the Outer Wall area of Cave Story, which this level loosely resembles in terms of colour theme and layout. The hidden red coin is even in roughly the same place as a secret item in the game.
