Don't feel cheated. I was born in the late 60's so it was my dad's and uncle's music but I discovered it at a young age and have been loving it ever since. Don't worry that you're late discovering it. Better late than never. Just enjoy it.

You love the Doo-Wop era of the 50s where groups would stand on the street corner to create their original sounds and copy others. At the end of the 50s into the early 60s were the Girl Groups like The Marvettes, The Crystals (Darlene Love), Chiffons, The Orlons, Angels, and The Shangri-Las. And of course the ultimate girl group The Supremes. Though I'm a teen of the '60s and a rocker I certainly love this music as well. I hope to continue to hear more of this from you two in the future. And soul singers make the best rock singers.

I agree LOL. I said the same thing whenever my parents would play 50s/60s/70s on the stereo (I'm an 80s-90s kid, so I can relate LOL). By the time 2010s came, I just stopped listening to the radio, stopped watching these music awards, A.I., etc. LOL. But in a way, I'm also grateful to KZfaq and streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. I had a chance of discovering oldies that even my parents haven't heard of (like the one-hit wonders and artists that were forgotten and even songs from well-known artists that never made it in the charts, everything). And thanks also to you guys and other reactors for discovering these treasures we no longer hear regularly on the radio or see on TV. Back then, it was only about the music. Today... I'm no longer sure😅 But let's keep on going and spread the word. We owe it to our elders who grew up during those golden eras of music and hoping the younger generation would find interest in bringing new music the way it's supposed to be - the old-fashioned way (maybe?). Thank you again! 😊

I was born in1950, so I was just a little kid when this was made by the Capris but I had two older sisters who had this song on an old "45" record and they'd be playing it constantly! One good thing, our mom liked the music we liked...she came from the "Big Band" era (like the sound of Glenn Miller and his Orchestra) She always approved of our music and we liked her big band music as welll ! Later as we got older, which spanned from the 50s to the 70s She still liked listening to our music, even as it changed in styles!!. Like, how many generations of family can say that??👍😘

No...u didn't miss out...u get to hear it now + everything else since...!! 😸 Anything from '58-'59 onwards you will love from that era (& all the do-wop songs), even up to 1970 or so ...I'm glad somebody else besides me remembers this tune u reviewed here!! I hv always loved it. If u were slow dancing with a guy then & u weren't already in love, u damn well were by the end of that song!! 😸 THOSE were the days... And, then, a guy didn't hv to know u, he could just fancy u from away across the room at a dance (& lights went down a lot lower, romantic, for the slow songs), & when u saw him wending his way thru the crowd, with his eye on u, u just caught your breath ...& then he bent down with his hand held out to you, & he asked YOU to dance...well...believe me, your heart lifted, it just floated up!!, let me tell u....) You guys need to act that out!! 😸

I was born in 2000 but always was a 60s huge fan (Motown especially). But a few years ago I went deep into the 50s, thanks to The Temptations movie when I fell in love with the doo-wop harmonies and the street corner vibes (hearing Who Wrote The Book of Love and Earth Angel). I was already a fan of Miracles' hits such as Got A Job, without knowing it was doo-wop. Since then I can't stop listening to 50s Doo-Wop and I even recently purchased The Complete Book of Doo-Wop written in the 90s... such an underrated genre who had a huge impact on music
