The click between frames mod might change geometry dash forever, and unlike physics bypass it doesnt come with any additional downsides like making some levels buggy. it maintains the exact same physics as current 2.2 (in theory), while giving everyone the advantage of super accurate inputs based on your device's polling rate, instead of the ingame tick system. Lets cross our fingers and hope rob adds this in game.
My stance will remain that it is a cheat until official endorsement or inclusion in game, but I do genuinely hope it's added in a future update, as this is a perfect compromise imo. Robtop do us all a favor.
I do hope i explained it in a digestible way for everyone to understand, as well as got everything right. I spent a good amount of time trying to understand everything as well as I could, and fact checked with a bunch of people I know, but if I did get anything wrong, please let me know :)

I think this mod is a good thing for the sole reason that it allows top players to achieve even greater things, by stopping game ticks from limiting the precision of their clicks. They can basically use their full potential, the difficulty of levels will become more true, a precise jump will stop being "this is the frame your cube will jump and survive" to "this is time window your jump will make it"

I mean, a frame is a time window. "this is the frame your cube will jump and survive" and "this is time window your jump will make it" are literally identical in meaning.

@@jfan3049 it sounds like it but it isn't, if you click inbetween ticks your cube will only jump in the next tick, so clicking in between tick 1 and 2 will make you jump at 2. But this mod will make so that the space between 1 and 2 will actually exist and the cube will jump properly. The timings will stop being from frame x to frame y, and become time x and time y. Your clicks will matter before the next frame even shows in your screen.

Personally I think this should be allowed as it will be motivation for pro players to get used to the 2.2 physics and it’s part of a free mod client you are practically expected to have at this point.

I’m super excited for it, I think it will not only raise the skill gap for the already good players, but it will also allow players on lower refresh rates to keep up with the players who have access to better monitors, pcs, etc. I think it’s a great development and I’m excited to get my hands on it for my own gameplay!

This comes with the drawback of making every lets say "10 trillion fps frame perfect" that alligns with 60 fps but now with this, regardless of your fps, it's going to be extremely hard no matter what.

@@yutsuneko nah the cs2 one doesn't work well because its on public servers, which then leads to more server lag and server information. It can lead to bad hit registration. But gd is not multiplayer and so doesn't bend the knee to such vices.

Note that the viper 8k has a locked polling rate for the switch. The 8khz only applies to the sensor of thr mouse, not the clicks

If robtop does decide to include in vanilla gd, I hope it will be some sort of option that you can toggle on and off because I find that becuase of locked input frames can make it easier to lower refrshrates as you can kind of see what frame you need to click on.

I am severely limited by my games performance due to my low end device and if this mod works how I think it will work this will be amazing. Currently I have problems with levels that I can’t run at 60fps being impossible because there is no possible frame to click on and in general my clicks will be more consistent due to a higher refresh rate not dependent on performance.

to put it into perspective: i have been playing atmos by marwec for a bit now. Was forced to play on ldm but still got fps drops to ~130 at times so the delay was inconsistent. Now I can safely run it at 60fps ON FULL DETAIL and with my 1k hz g502 I can play it with smaller delay

I think it's legal mainly to get people shooting for bigger achievements. Especially those who are hard locked on low refresh rate systems (60-180ish Hz). By basically eliminating that, you are giving everyone an equal playing field with faster polling rates. Although we will have to wait for a final answer, considering people are getting banned from the leaderboards for beating rated levels with this mod enabled.

Awesome tool, definetely. But I'm not using it for now cuz of bug in platformer mode when player jumps of a moving block and can randomly accelerate in the left/right direction. When this bug will be fixed i certainly will enable it.

Honestly though, it is super cool, but like you said about Demonlist requirements, those who want to go for said levels should have an in-game option to turn it off if it is implemented in vanilla. Absolutely genius idea!! Just hope it doesn’t come down to Pay-2-Win with setups for top/higher players. It definitely opens up more doors, especially for those who don’t have funds for a nicer or improved setup, but I fear it might make the grind to the top harder for many because of the increased reliance on their setup and the lack of funds many (like myself once upon a time, and still sometimes now) have. An in-game option would be great though 👍 Good topic video

@@bradgd8033 "It will be easier" that's not necessarily how it works. Take a 240tps frame perfect timing without the mod. Let's say that in order to pull it off, you need to click in between tick 1 and 2. That means you have 1/240th, or 0.004166... seconds to do it. Now let's install the mod, and let's say our input device runs at 2400tps. Tick 1, 2 and 3 now become tick 1, 2, 3... 28, 29, 30. In order to pull off the frame perfect, the ticks you have to click at could range anywhere between tick 10 to 29, giving you 0.0079166... seconds to do the frame perfect, or only in between tick 19 to 20, which would give you just 0.0004166... seconds to do it. So if anything, this mod will probably make most levels with very precise timings way harder.

If there are infinite frames to click on and the input is all about the click response, aeternus would become even harder because it has high fps frame perfects. Its basically the same reason why stuff like 3 seconds hell are way harder on high fps.

I imagine top demons in the future will play on nerves a lot more rather than pure skill. Obviously levels like Aeternus are still ridiculous and raw difficulty is most of it. But with this new feature we are getting closer and closer to the human limit of skill. Already with the tool Luqualizer beat bloodbath in 10 minutes but also LordVadercraft got the run 58-100 with it and I don't think he's going for it as a new hardest, just showing the capability. I can't wait to see how far the limits can be pushed

I was tryna find out why I didn't feel any difference, turns out my mouse is so bad that the polling rate is extremely similar if not identical to playing the base game. If anyone cares, I found the mouse selling on eBay for £5, so that should tell you everything 😂. Anyone have any ideas on what mouse to get that is good for GD?

I didnt know about this mod and I think it is fantastic. I have been personally complaining a lot about 2.2 because my game runs worse. I play on a laptop (60 Hz) and in 2.1 I used to never bypass fps but bypass tps instead wich allowed me to stay on 60 fps and be able to run 240 tps on most levels. In 2.2 I had do start bypassing fps and I can barely bypass to 120 (still dropping a lot of frames all the time). With a mod like this I could return on 60 fps and be fine. I personally think this is too convenient to not use it and I think I will use the mod even if the "official" community marks it as cheating. Afterall something like the old 360 fps cap was just for records to be eligible for the list; if someone wanted to play 480 or 540 he still could. I'm not submitting any record to any list so it doesn't matter to me if it is a banned hack. It makes my playing experience more enjoyable, that's what matters. As a side note I don't understand why the list would ever ban the mod. If I'm not mistaken one of the reasons why fps bypass was allowed was because it was included in mh v5 which was free, so people didn't have to buy external tools to have advantages. Geode is free so I don't see the difference. I don't think monitors have anything to do with this hack, the physics is the same so the advantage of having an oled is the same when using the mod and when not using it.

What I am getting at is that the physics will not change, but the amount of "frames" or ticks that are available increase, hence making clicks more accurate.

lol this won’t make much of a difference for easy levels, only levels with very precise timings. It will definitely feel more responsive though

I think it's fine, honestly. It's a massive QoL improvement that just makes the game more accurate. I'd compare it back to when everyone was against 144Hz monitors and the like, which gave a massive advantage (i.e. Riot beating Bloodbath was on a 144Hz monitor). It's pretty much the same thing, but instead of slightly different physics, it makes your inputs much more precise. Could also compare it to Counter-Strike, and the difference between playing on 64-tick and 128-tick servers. Most people love 128, as it's more precise.

if you really do think about it it will give all players a FAIR advantage in the game and it will let everyone have a chance in becoming a good player and not only that it will have the chance for everyone to play certain levels that they weren't before. like i know that some people think that fps bypass was cheating (like back in 2.1) because some people dont have the good enough device to run 360 fps and bypass. but with this everyone no matter what device and fps it will get everyone a fair advantage and let people play levels they weren't able to play and it will let them have a chance to become a top player

Wouldnt this make some high fps frame perfects harder? Before you always had 1/240th of a second window no matter what for the input, now it is completely dependent on how “frame perfect” the input is. A 1000hz frame perfect for example will now be 1/1000th of a second precision

@temporarynickname I'm not saying this suddenly makes Aeternus possible by current players, I'm saying this could be the opportunity of a huge skill boost in a ton of players like how 360hz revolutionized the high end playing field. And historically most huge top 1 jumps happened following a technical jump, like 60 to 144, 240 to 360, and to a lesser extent the Zero Delay mod and Sayodevice
