Something locally that happened here is that The Netherlands has put in a curfew for the first time since WWII, A restriction of having to be inside from 9 PM to 4 AM. There have been riots all over the country over this, and some taking advantage of the chaos, breaking, entering and stealing from stores. Notably, football/soccer hooligans have been reported helping the police combat the chaos. Strange time to be alive, and surely a strange feeling having things like this happen a mere 20 minutes of driving away.

Covid-19 news always breaks my heart. My best friend had a heart problem, and had a heart attack on New Year's. Then she was rushed to the ER, and was infected there. She passed away shortly afterwards.

It's alright. I wish he wouldn't have mixed up the timeline of when Trump tweeted what. He tweeted about Pence earlier that morning if I remember correctly, and immediately after the violence made a video telling his supporters to go home. Nonetheless, it's much better than mainstream media.

This is only our second election, after the military gave up power back in 2010. Now, they're back at it again, detaining the ruling party and declaring a one year state emergency.

I would just like to say that the rioting didn’t really stop until Trump went public and told everyone to go home, and then everyone was gone within an hour. The National Guard being withheld came from the pentagon, which was a pretty terrifying moment, some people were expecting it to be a real coup.

I can't believe Sir Swag, the channel I'd come to for rainbow six siege memes would become a news channel for thousands. I love it. I started watching these news videos way back when they started. and the fact you covered the news so succinctly while still using memes and glorious text-to-speech really struck a chord with me. Definitely more so than any other news I read or watched could have done for a teen.

In Argentina, most of the opposition to abortion comes from us libertarians who believe no one should decide over other person's body, including the bodies of those people in gestation. Furthermore, we also criticize the push of funding it through taxes in a country where half the population struggles to feed themselves, the party that has pushed for it also has concentration camps in some of their provinces among other issues.

IIRC, I started watching this channel back in 2016/2017, around the 10k special. The amount that Sir Swag has evolved in that time is incredible, from an Overwatch shitposter that made How To Git Gud videos to a consistently reliable news source, not the glow up I was expecting but definitely one i welcome

$26 Billion sounds like a lot. But divided by the approximate 330 million people alive in the US today, that’s only ~$79 a year. Spread out through taxes all year long. If you bought something every day, you would only be paying ~22 cents more on it. That also means if you spent $200 on groceries, you would still only be changed an extra 22 cents. If the difference between your child being set up for life or being forced to gamble is 22 cents, and that’s too much for you, *then you’re a horrible parent.*

It's just so difficult to find a news medium which isn't completely muddied and marred by controversies and biases these days, I do seek news from other sources as well but it's difficult to stay up to date with everything that's happening, especially when almost all sources are making no effort whatsoever to keep themselves from being biased, and instead feeding the bias openly.
