It's a nice cozy winters day.. and you're thinking about your next tactical knife. A name pops into your head while drinking a warm choco. The THE ASSASSIN FANATIC KNIFE OF THE ANNIHILATE BORDER CROSSING from Zune Lotoo who made the multitool shovel as well. What a cozy Christmas thought! It's sub $100,- and it's said to be indestructible... but.... it's D2 and made in China can it be good? only one way to find out and that's to watch this bloody episode!

Hey DBK! I guess if you make “balls” again then try to change the water under it. Start in cold water and after boiling change the water. That way you can get rid of the smell. I have never eaten pork/beef balls but we have dishes that need the same threatment.

Great review guys, I am glad to see the maker had the balls to send you a knife knowing it would get abused. The tests you guys do are nuts, which is a good thing in showing quickly how tough a knife really is. Maybe it would help to get some scrotum gloves for using this uncomfortable knife handle; the more you play with the glove the thicker it would get. Happy New Year DBK!

The knife's designed for prying between bone and stabbing. It has a slight edge to help it slide in as it stabs. It wasn't designed for slashing. That's why it isn't double edged or finely sharpened. (It's not supposed to have a sharpened edge, that takes away from its engineered strength)

It's an amazing design for animal processing. I have a Knives Of Alaska Yukon Belt Knife in D2steel, it's a modern take on the Grohmam's original version, done perfectly and fits the hand amazingly. The design doesn't work for woodworking well because of the angle of the handle. It's alright at basic utility tasks but it shines in the role it was designed for, skinning animals.

using significantly better steel would require different tooling than production, to much effort. It's a stout fixed blade design and D2 steel is a good but affordable metal, no surprise to me it worked. There's a lot of chinese companies making decent knives coming on the scene the last few years.

Lads awesome content yet again, (balls to the wall) or in a pan then fried lol, I was more commenting to give you an honest opinion of your knife after a few weeks of serious usage........ Well again awesome, I love elmax steel and this doesn't disappoint. I will say it feels like a jack of all trades master of none. Not in a bad way but as a featherstickers it's more than adequate but it takes some mastery to get fine curls, it splits well. And it actually didn't do bad at skinning and butchery, so it's not the best at any one thing but it is a very good one tool does all, which is an appraisal in itself. So thankyou for your efforts I'm a very happy customer/fan cheers lads

looks like a fine soldiers' knife. Opening cans, MRE's, screwdriving, prying into stuff and recreational trowing 🙂 Humor aside; I think the issue with Chinese D2 is two fold; 1. Inconsistency in steel (I've had chinese D2 rust faster than O1.. ). 2. inconsistency with heath treat; and heath treat is everything in modern knife steels. All in all; great video; keep up the good works !

Up until a few years ago the biggest problem with Chinese knives made of D2 was that they weren't made of D2. I THINK (can't recall for sure) Cedric and Ada Outdoors checked out/tested one or two of them and found that they weren't D2, at all. That was when D2 was still a little more of an 'expensive' steel than it is, now, and half the knives on the Chinese websites claimed to be D2. Some of them you might look at and say, "That isn't a bad looking knife. If it is really D2 the price is a good deal," while others you would look at and say, "No way in hell that knife is made of D2." I can't remember the name of the website that sold the Chinese knives, flashlights, etc. but some of the brands weren't bad (and didn't claim to be D2, etc.). I ordered a knife or two, a couple of pocket flashlights and a couple of knock-off Tek-Locks (or whatever the correct spelling is) and never had an issue. I don't think they can actually ship to the U.S. any longer, though.
