Okay, so Karrde being "Loose-lipped" was bad, but there's another mistake that I think did FAR worse things (For FAR longer). That being: The Jedi (At the end of The Hundred-Year Darkness in 6900 BBY) not executing the surviving Dark Jedi after Corbos, but instead exiling them beyond The Republic's borders to "Rethink their lives", which led to these Dark Jedi landing on Korriban, becoming The First Sith Lords, and forever dooming the galaxy to eternal pain, and suffering in the endless wars between The Jedi, and Sith. WORST. MISTAKE. EVERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Honestly the bigger issue to me is that this is a huge mistake even if the Vong don’t even hear about it. Karde literally revealed the existence of the Vornskr to people actively engaged in hunting Jedi

The biggest mistake was Thrawn recruiting C'baoth. The hunt for the Jedi he demanded caused Luke to meet Mara, them destroying the Clone Factory, Leia finding the Noghri, Karde siding with the Republic etc. Without the C'baoth butterfly effect Thrawn would have won.

Imagine a loose lipped smuggler resulted in a series of events where it lead to a large volcano going off in Coruscant

I seem to recall that Vergere and Lumiya had been scheming the Caedus thing long enough that they probably would have found a way for it to happen whether or not Karrde had made this decision.

Personally, before watching this video, since it was Anakin Solo on the cover, I knew it had something to do with the death of Anakin Solo. I was guessing whether it was Talon Karrde showing off his vornskrs, or the Myrkr strike team not having some adults attached to them, or Anakin Solo choosing not to bomb the Baanu Rass with a baradium missile after one of his team's members sensed Force sensitives on board (and instead going for a costly boarding operation).

Clicked on this because of the thumbnail like "yes, killing Anakin Solo WAS their biggest mistake" because I'm still sad about it lol.

If he had just destroyed it, he could have manufactured a story about some hyperspace disaster to escape blame, and they still could have investigated the wreckage to find evidence of the rebels receiving the plans. No Luke, or Ben to worry about. Owen and Beru survive, Luke works as a farmer for another year before going to the academy. Han and Chewie never join the alliance. Alderann survives. Ben doesn't die. Yavin Base remains secret. After that who knows what happens?

If Jacen had not convinced Anakin to not fire Centerpoint Station then all of the Hapan fleet would have survived. Making it so that Teneniel Djo does not suffer a miscarriage and coma. With the birth of a second child and Teneniel still acting as Queen Mother, Tenel Ka would not have had to take over and would not in the future. Tenel Ka could remain a Jedi and she and Jacen would not need to keep Allana a secret. Jacen was seduced by the Darkside with the purpose of making the galaxy a safe place for his daughter and not like the one he saw from his vision of the dark man. He would probably still struggle to overcome Lumiya's seduction, but with Allana not being a secret he could actually go to his family for support. More of a fan theory really, but I think worth a thought.

I wish Disney had used the old expanded universe for the sequel trilogy there are a ton of great stories to be mined for movies. I'm not going to hate on 7-8 and 9 I liked elements of each of them but I like to think of them as they are from a separate time line

This is a very fun exercise trying to pinpoint a spot in the timeline that screws everything else up for decades to come; but I think we'd be remis to exclude the Will of the Force having a hand in things. Destiny is a huge thematic element of Star Wars and I'd be hard pressed to make an assertion like "if X doesn't happen in the first place, then Y would never happen either". Pretty sure the Will of the Force would course-correct, so to speak.

So Karrade loose lips gives Vong dna basis to create the terrifying jedi hunting voxyn and force the jedi to launch the deadly bloody mission to Myker, that had a massive casualty rate of 50-75% of the strike force even though they managed to destroy Voxyn cloning facility in short term. While setting motion, events that would eventually cause the swarm and second galactic civil wars in the long term. Failure of the Jedi to send overwhelming force, rather than small strike force to Ambria to take out and kill Bane and Zannah, two last sith lords post seventh battle of ruusan.
