None of these are bloopers. Bloopers are outtakes that are funny, typically with actors flubbing their lines and breaking character. If the scene remains in the final cut, it’s not a blooper. Most of the so-called “bloopers” you note are continuity errors.

@@FactsVerse, Hmmmmm… the ones with Mary Ann in them. I didn’t know a single guy that didn’t dream about being stranded on that island with her. Not Ginger, who wasn’t very friendly at all and spent break times sitting all by herself as she thought the show should’ve been more about her. The rest of the cast were all like family and spent lots of time together. Ginger was the red headed (no pun intended) stepchild that wanted nothing to do with anyone else. Sad.

The show had an epic theme song and the antics were so silly and entertaining, I doubt anyone minded the bloopers or even noticed them. Great show! And, it's hard to pick a favorite character. I always thought if it as a live action cartoon. The characters were a representation of humanity and the Seven Deadly Sins. Giligan was Sloth, the Skipper was Wrath, The Professor was Pride, Mr Howel was Greed, Mrs Howel was Gluttony (this one is a stretch), Ginger was Lust, and Mary Ann was Envy.

My friend and I were standing in LAX in 1986 just killing time until we could board our plane to go home. An actor (whose name I do no know) and his wife walked over to where we were and started chatting. They were waiting to board their plane to Hawaii. Alan Hale Jr. appeared, and walked over to us too. He was wearing the Skipper clothing he wore on the show. He's a big man! He was 6 ft. 2" tall. His height never really came across on TV back in the day. Sadly he died on January 2, 1990 of Thymus Cancer at age 68.

They were on a "3 hour tour" but during the tour they got caught in a storm. There's no mention of how long the storm lasted or how long they drifted before they landed. In fact if you reference the beginning of the first episode (you played a clip of it) they wake up on the island. It's clearly at least a day later. Gilligan says to the Skipper "When the storm was over and it was calm you said we'd be home in no time." So they could have been drifting for days.

Fun Fact; In the creator Sherwood Schwartz story of how the show came to be, the producers needed to know why the castaways were on the island, or else they would not make the show. So Schwartz rewrote the theme song from a calypso type of song to the one we all know, because it told the story and introduced the cast in a "Folk song" style. Sung by the Wellingtons.

Fun show with or without the gaffs. No one back then cared about things like wires or painted backdrops. People didn't pick things apart like they do today. However, if you're going to go looking for bloopers, you sure missed a lot of them. Like the episode where the Howells decide to adopt Gilligan because they never had children, then the TV movies that follow show us Thurston Howell IV, a fully grown man. Or how about the one with the Russian cosmonauts? It's revealed that only one of them speaks English, then Gilligan overhears them making plans... both speaking in English. They also mark a bottle with an X, then use the wrong one. How about the cigarette butts in the sand during the Jungle Boy episode? Or Ginger saying she's ruined her only dress in the very first show? Or how the doors and windows in the huts keep changing... many, many more. You picked a show that is loaded with glitches, but barely mentioned any of them. Like I said, no one worried about these things back then. People assumed the shows would only be seen once and there was no such thing as rewinding or freeze-framing an episode. Different times. My favorite character? Eva Grubb.

Gilligan's Island was a popular television series that ran from 1964 to 1967, and it followed the adventures of a group of castaways on a deserted island. Gilligan, played by Bob Denver, was certainly a beloved character and often provided the comedic relief in the show. His bumbling, yet lovable personality endeared him to many fans of the show, and his antics often resulted in hilarious misadventures. But as you mentioned, all of the characters on Gilligan's Island had their own unique quirks and personalities that made them enjoyable to watch. From the goofy Skipper to the glamorous Ginger, and from the intellectual Professor to the millionaire Thurston Howell III, each character brought something different to the table and helped to create a memorable and entertaining show. It's always great to hear that people still enjoy watching classic TV shows like Gilligan's Island and appreciate the humor and charm of the characters.

In 1981 I was on senior year high school break in California. Was taking a tour of Universal studios and we went to the lagoon. The whole cast was there filming the Harlem globetrotters episode. In retrospect kinda cool.

In the episode Allergy Time, when Gilligan is moving out of the hut because the Skipper is allergic to him, the skipper keeps sneezing and blowing out the candle. When the Skipper is about to sneeze again, Gilligan puts a board between the Skipper and the candle so he doesn't blow it out again. It's quick, but to the right as the Skipper is sneezing, someone can be seen blowing the candle out.

Those buildings would not have been visible on an old CRT. Anywhere from 5% to 15% of the edges of the screen were usually covered by a bezel. This is why some older console video games have a "safe zone" setting that lets you move important UI closer to or farther from the edge.

Another channel showed the studio and back lit where the show was filmed. The lagoon is now paved over but back in the day, it was in the very back of the property. Those building you saw were peoples homes. The back of the lot were residential homes while the front had stores. It was one of the reasons why they wanted that spot. While filming they wouldn’t have to worry about buildings over the tops of the trees.

Watching these clips, It's amazing this show lasted more than a season or two. Especially with the knowledge that everyone seemed to carry a lot of personal belongings as you pointed out. As far as AM radio, there were and are stations that operate 50,000 watts, and could possibly carry that far from the East Coast; but reception would be much better in the evening and at night.

Star Trek had the same bloopers with wires and suspended objects (ep. Where No Man Has Gone Before). With Gilligan's Island there were gaffs every week, and we used to watch for them and point them out. The episode where they were trapped in cages was one of the most glaring. There was a shot showing that the cages were two or three sided, and open on one or two sides.

Fun Fact. Back in the sixties when Gilligan's Island was on TV, there weren't any billionaires. It was something to be a millionaire.
