Welcome to Teyvat Historia! And the first episode of a new series I’m calling Genshin Rewind. In this series I go back in time to patch versions long concluded to retell the stories of event quests for those of you who had not yet begun your journey through Teyvat, or for those who may just want to revisit those quests as the details are likely to have grown distant with time.
In this first episode I'm going over Genshin Impact's 1.1 Event Questline - Unreconciled Stars. This gave us our first real hint that Celestia may not be the benevolent heaven it seems to the people of Teyvat.

I was so upset when i found out i had started the game just a little too late to get this event, the devs really should consider how players invested in the lore can still play these stories without just watching someone else do it because "oops, should have started playing earlier"

My favorite part of this event was the character interactions as it felt genuine and made sense for the character. Also the 3rd part of the event where there would be a lot of enemies as in waves that you could do in coop was fun and was the most fun I had in coop lmao, also for whatever reason, the blue circle of where a meteorite piece landed location is still marked on my map lol

Looking back at this quest, there's something that caught my attention about this event, it was Dainsleif's Miscellany about Mona. *"But beware, O young seeker. You must sacrifice your all to unravel the world's secrets. Can the astrologist Mona bear such a burden?"* Does this mean an foreshadowing that Mona will get a new character quest where she gets to discover the reality of Teyvat's sky and stars? If so, the stars are a hoax, does that means that the Constellations that are linked to the person's fate are also fake or pretermined by the Heavenly Principles? As much the Traveller has learned from Enkanomiya, I don't think they had the freedom to explain this type of discovery to anyone, since this is the book that caused to Orobachi to be executed. Another thing that caught my attention and is possible connection to Scaramouche's backstory as Kunikuzushi, is his sheer will to awake himself from the meteorite's dream. This is mostly a speculation from my part, that remind me that Ei put him to sleep during an ambigous lapse of time, and then he woke himself by that same will.

Well i do hope that Dainslief's Miscellany about Mona does not hint of a potential danger for her in the future😢. I love Mona both in lore and as a playable character. As for the stars of a person having their fate being predetermined by Celestia, i don't think it's really the case. Take Ei as exemple, She planted the sacred thunder sakura a top of the narukami shrine and was helped indirectly by Istaroth to bring it to the past and protect Inazuma during the great cataclysm. If the constallations are predetermined by Celestia with their fate already made up, then they would know that Ei would do an act the goes against the heavenly principles and thus the have to kill her or would had already killed her, remember this thunder sakura is off bounds by the heavenly principles. Also, if they really controlled everyone's fate with constallations, then they wouldn't need to destroy so many civilisations everytime one of them got to discover Celestia's truth or came too close to do so. They would just had weaved their fate in a way they would never discover it or killed them before it actually happend. Anyway i do hope we get more Mona, quests!

@@Fordrake21 For time being, I think that Mona is on "safe" zone, however, I would say that Dainsleif's foreshadowing would be more directed towards her knowledge of the stars and challenge everything that she has know so far as astrologist. It was thanks to Ishtaroth that Ei has managed to escape from Celestia's watchful eye. While I kinda agree with you about they are able to reweave it as they wish. I think you need to account Bennet's curse of misfortune and Shenhe's birth under the two stars of calamity --- why those two people were marked with such unfair at such young age? Regardless if thid could act as proof or not, this shows that the Heavenly Principles have no qualms of making people suffer unfair circumstances even before they were born.

@@Fordrake21 About Ei, I think it's because she's currently in Makoto's realm that is connected with Istaroth power. Technically she escapes from Celestia's watch. Celestia might thought that it's Makoto's will to protect Inazuma that grows the Thunder Sakura. Just a theory but the possibility is there.

Definitely, if you read all Mona's profile info, Mona entire life is about her, as the astrologist wanting to find the truth of the world. It's also an order she received from her master, who most likely tied within the great lore of Teyvat together with Alice and Rhinedottir as they know each other and their successor conveniently stay in Mondstadt (Klee & Albedo). I don't think "sacrifice all = death" in fact, she already sacrificed her entire life for astrology as she can't take care of herself and always out of Mora to even eat smth proper. Another person that'll have huge involvement in Mona's story i think is Scaramouche. Scaramouche is the only one to see inside the dream in meteor that'll be a huge knowledge for her, more powerful and has the same interest in celestial things just like her. In Mona's character story 5, she said she wanted to learn about "human heart" and it's linear with what Scaramouche wanted (a puppet that learn and wants heart). Conveniently, The Jester aka First Harbinger is the one who order Scaramouche to investigate the meteor for unknown reason. What i don't get here is why Jester, out of all harbingers available, order Scaramouche to do so, because we can be sure that The Jester is from Khaenriah, like Dainsleif (Pale Flame artifact lore) so he most likely know about the "truth of the world", i think The Jester order Scaramouche because he has another important meaning. Scaramouche and Mona are also the only one reaching the same conclusion about the meteor located in Musk Reef who is a place for Spiral Abyss, the place itself is very sus. I have a feeling if Scaramouche is redeemable or his goal align with traveler, he'll become an important character (or duo... or partner) for Mona and both might work together to reveal the truth of the world in the end. Tldr; Scaramouche & Mona, both might meet again and might have more involvement in Teyvat's lore than we thought.

It cost resin, but it also had no limit. I remember dumping almost all my Fragile Resin (I had 30 or so, IIRC) into the event, because I wanted Fischl but only started the event at the last day. But it was a damn fine event and the rewards were quite good imo, at least for the early game.

I got my first Fischl back then- i loved the story and love Fischl even more. She is my only character with 4 different artefact sets, that’s how much i love her. Btw german is my first language and it hurted so much when i first heard of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung and the Immernachtreich. I got used to it now but still makes me smile

I started just as the unreconciled stars event ended and Klee’s first banner. So I was too low AR to do it and felt sad cuz I felt like I had missed something important. Thank you for doing this so I finally understand

Still one of my most favorite Limited Time Quests, I just love any quests involving some mystery and lore over the cooking, gardening, bartending events, which is why any quest involving Dainsleif and Albedo is always great! the moment when Mona knew what was up with Scaramouche still gives me chills! so far, i'm loving the concept of this series, can't wait for the recaps of other events to see if I missed something or learn something new!

This series will be really nice. I like the Did You Know segments, and I hope it shows differences between the events like, Scaramouche was introduced to the players who did not play the earlier versions but not to the ones who has, in the event from Inazuma. Also, it is interesting that Hoyoverse decided to drop the trait of highlighting text, like Zelda does, and I miss those hightlights of important stuff.

Good one! Loking forward for the series to continue! One Comment though worth mentioning. Whatever Scara have figured with the Meteor's core, it seemed to accelerate his resolve to acquire the Gnosis. Whatever he's learned led him back to Inazuma (after long absence?) and pushed to finally get what he believe is his - the Electro Gnosis. I'd love to learn what was that exactly.

It was nice seeing fischl again in this recap. Since i think she and mona have been MIA in genshin since. Only mentioned here and there but never seen. It would be funny when fischl is next seen in a story or event in the future, she mentions her honkai impact exploits.

I remember I took part in the Unreconciled Stars event before even reaching Liyue Harbor, so I first met Mona before doing her story quest. When I finally started her quest, the dialogue was changed to match that I already met her before, which was honestly a nice detail. Unfortunately, the same detail wasn't present when I took part in the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms before doing Eula's story quest, so the event played out like I already knew her and the story quest introduced her like I had never met her. Maybe they realized how complex it'd become once more characters and events were added into the game. By the way, Unreconciled Stars still is by far my favorite event in Genshin Impact and one of the main reasons are those mysteries it set up.

If the stars and skies are a lie, then was that the first hint that Celstia might be imposters? Ngl I almost cried watching that cutscene and then recalling what Dainslief’s says about his strong belief in humanity. There’s been several moments so far in this game that npc’s are proving humanity can be stable without their gods. I really wonder how we’ll be able to save Teyvat from the unknown that’s wants to destroy humanity.
