This security guard is wild. you can be firm and respectful at the same time.
Check out these intense red carpet moments from the Cannes Film Festival, including Kelly Rowland and Yoona being harassed by the Cannes film festival security.

Most red carpets have a dedicated space to have your photo taken, and then you move on, in order to keep things moving they stage arrival times of celebrities and allow each celebrity a certain amount of time so that things go to a schedule. They are also held to the same health and safety standards as any other industry and therefore would have done risk assessments and long trains on stairs is a big risk, so they would have been told to not allow people to stop on the stairs for that reason. Get mad at the security guard for invading people's space and touching people without consent, but why are people picking apart the festival who no doubt outsourced security from somewhere else. It's a film festival, not a fashion event and movies have to start on time.

That, and it would honestly take them less time to get up the stairs and do their pictures if the security left them alone lol. The security pressing them about moving out of the way is only holding them up more cuz then people start getting frustrated and wanna know why they’re being physically removed from the spot when they’ve barely taken a picture, and then want to purposefully NOT move (which honestly, is understandable here 😂). I think they need to take a step back and do some more training with security on the stairs so there’s no more misunderstandings about this. Because I’ve never seen this be an issue before this year 😂

Right?! It just seems like incredible poor management. I also can’t help but have the thought that If they weren’t going to have time to show off the opulence and fashion of the event, they shouldn’t invite the celebrities with such an exclusive dress code. These events take hours to prepare for, the celebrities are already likely exhausted just from being poked and prodded at to achieve these glamorous looks. Literally could’ve just had them come in like any regular person going to the cinema if the fashion aspect was going to be so rushed through
@LunarEleven
@LunarEleven 19 күн бұрын
If they just let them take the photo it would take less time, the security guards are boxing them in and standing in the line of sight for the photographers. I barely saw a moment where a photo could be taken on most of these and of course when you are selectively ruining some people's photo op and not others they are going to stand their ground and end up on the stairs for that much longer.

My younger brother is a bouncer at a club in Boston, but he would NEVER do something like this, even when removing someone from the premises he remains as polite as possible while still being firm and he attempts to be as mindful of people's clothing and personal space as possible. He has told me so many times that the number one rule is to make everything as smooth as possible and if you come with aggression it escalates, and that's on you (the bouncer or security). To hover around her like that, ruined any chance of having any decent photos. Her look was such an innocent pitiful look that it , literally, made my heart squeeze in my chest for her. Before that, I thought, "ok the celebs know there is a time limit and they agreed to it before walking up the steps. right? they already have people minding their time and managing their appearances. i'm sure none of the sane ones wanna be known for stalling and making everybody else late and getting on people's bad side, so even tho i'm not involved in anything like that, i'm pretty sure most celebrities don't even need security to tell them to move along, the timing info was (or should have been) already sent to the reps, who will be managing their time and giving them cues. absolutely unnecessary. and if the event doesn't allow for that much time, don't have a red carpet. someone else said there was a security risk - even more reason not to even have one in the first place. this looks a sh|itshow.

As someone who ran the Personal Assistant team for the Celebrity/Special Guest/Talent team at a large convention for many years, then later oversaw all of the teams but specialized in all things related to talent - those security guards were NOT doing their jobs. Part of the job for event security is yes to maintain security of course and be conscientious of schedule, but also you need to respect the guests who are INVITED to your show, and if there is going to be a very, very strict way that you want people going up your stairs, you need to brief every guest and their team (they all have personal assistants/publicists/bodyguards/stylists etc) AHEAD OF TIME to avoid exactly this kind of stuff. This speaks volumes about the festival and their staff, not the celebrities. No excuse whatsoever. Even someone who isn’t following a policy that has been laid out ahead of time can be gently coached in a manner that is respectful and professional, and this is NOT the way to do it. I’ve had to intervene pursuant to serious issues, but this type of behavior is never acceptable and when I’ve actually had issues with venue security behavior towards a guest I was working with, I raised holy hell filing reports and policies changed and people were fired/blacklisted. An absolute shame.

If taking photos was an issue, they should not have had all the photographers lined up at the bottom of the stairs. It's the red carpet, they have their photos taken.. yup, confirms my thought that people are briefed about how long they're expected to pose for, and assistants and reps will cue them, cause i don't think most of them wanna be known as someone who hogs the spotlight, makes others late, is a primadonna, etc. they want it to be smooth as well. and if a particular celebrity does that, then they'll be the one looking bad, unless you decide to crumple their dress or put your hands on them... they just look like night club bouncers.

One day I was booked for a whole day of taking exams, i drove 1,5 hours and when i got there, they said to me "sorry but you're not on the list of examinators" With this company I'd had issues before, that they couldn't remember my name. Now you can give me all sorts of excuses but after I've worked for you 8 times, you should know my name. Sorry not sorry. So I guessed it was that again and I told the receptionist very nicely "no problem, I'll drive back. But then I can't come back today anymore because going back and forth would take me 3 hours" He got a bit confused and asked me if I could wait and he'd go and ask again, just to make sure. And sure enough, they'd misspelled my name again, so badly that he could not recognise it when I said my name. The DJ should've just left and when someone called to ask where he was, he should've said "I was there but apparently I was not invited" And the lady with the long train with jesus on it. Omg that was soo frustrating to watch!!! Just get your hands off her, back off! Hoe difficult can that be? Leave her be for a second and then you can rush her up like madmen again.

I felt so guilty, just having a mere thought that I don't want it. She made the most beautiful train, it was a work of art. I loved it!! It was a task just to walk down this long aisle, with a 12 foot train. It took 3 people to spread it out beautifully, before I took my first step. My grandmother told me how to walk, to keep spread out. Lol, even threatening my father to not step on it, when you walk with me. My point is, I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to walk up the steps, with a train that long. Trying to keep the train Drapped beautifully down the steps, as the focal point. Then have some guards trying to rush you, & standing so close in your personal space. The train had to be specifically for when she walked the red carpet and went up the steps. Then it probably was taken off afterwards , of course. The guards ruined the entire reason why she had the train & the moment for it to shine. Someone must have told the guards, to do this. After once maybe twice, if this was not their instructions, it would have been stopped. Bizarre. Especially for the red carpet moment.
