I have a suggestion for you. After the guys are done with the barn, y'all might want to go over the area with your metal detector. As careful as your builders may be nails, screws, and metal bits still can get dropped. I'd hate for one of the animals to get something in their foot. ❤

Jason, I know you're proud to have the shelter and head gate/shoot up for your big babies. What a relief for you, Brooke, and the doc. Looks fabulous! Mildred cracked me up sleeping so well. The look in her eyes when she woke up was telling how well she was sleeping. Lol. I'm loving watching all that's going on around Cog Hill Farm.

I love Mildred. She is my favorite of the farm animals. She's so pretty and so chill. Moody is as well, but Mildred is still my favorite. I remember the cute ar my grandparents dairy farm had side panels they could lift up and out. They were metal and may have actually been gate panels. Having each side panel be removable was sometimes handy for the vet. Wish my grandparents were still alive my grandfather was a really smart man had farmed since he was a teenager, he could've probably grown a good crop in concrete, lol.

The head gate looks great! You may want to include a small catch pen attached to it, so that you can have the cattle in it ready to go for when the vet or farrier come. You can then just push them on through to the head gate up the chute with no fuss. It will also serve as a grain feeding station for Mildred so Moody can't swipe her food. You might also want a pole with a light on it by the head gate for emergency treatment at night. These two things will greatly improve your handling experience through the years.

Awesome head gate! I'm no expert in bovines but experienced enough to know that unless you halter train them like horse and work with their feet etc you won't be able to do a lot of the routine maintenance required. Even then, there would be times when a head gate is needed. Your awareness and pursuit of knowledge in homesteading is remarkable! So many new homesteaders out there think just loving the animals is enough. Putting this in perspective - as a child you could not get me near a doctor. I would fight, run away, avoid etc. So , if a child cannot understand the necessary routine medical procedures then why would anyone expect an animal to understand what is best for them.

The head gate is a must for doctoring big animals or doing whatever you need to do for them..they can definitely do damage to themselves or anyone working with them without it.. you getting things fixed up so nice for the animals.. the big barn and the cow shed/barn .. everything is so nice..

My experience has been that it is worth the time to feed the cattle in the head gate a few times every so often. It makes it so much easier to get them in it and they don't get apprehensive when asked to go in it. Just feed them with the gate open a bit, close it but don't do anything else, let them learn it isn't going to harm them. Makes it so SO much more pleasant down the road. Obviously this only works when you have a few head, not for large herds. Things there are looking very good. It's impressive what y'all have accomplished in such a short period of time. Well done! Those seeders are fabulous! Just don't forget to check your seed between rows. It's pretty easy to get going along thinking how easy and lovely things are going then realize after three rows that you ran out of seed two and a half rows ago. Ask me how I know?

Love love LOVE your channels! Love the way you interact with your animals. Just a suggestion, I think that hay spear should be aimed all the way up or all the way down when it’s left on the tractor without a roll of hay on it. Wouldn’t want to see an accident happen. Happy “hay day” Moo Man❤

Love Moo Manor or Moo Mansion, my suggestion would be Bovine Bungalow, or Cow Castle 😂 ❤ that head gate will be a game changer, so pleased for you guys! ❤ love how Jessie and Moe and Bramble, have just settled in, as if there was ever a doubt. That farm is going to be one heck of a haven for all the animals and humans by the time you are finished with all your plans (if you can ever finish on a farm) its awesome as it is but just keeps getting better. X

That seeder is amazing! I've planted 200 feet of pink-eyed purple hulls by hand. It takes a LONG time and is a lot of work. I wanted one of those seeders, and this model from Hoss looks like the best I've seen. Great video, enjoyed every bit of it. I do worry because Jessie, Mo, and of course Paris are all specially bonded with aunt Mildred. Maybe they can have visitation. I know whatever you do will be beautiful. We're older than you and gave up our farm, it was just way more than we could handle. So I live my farm fantasy through y'all. Thank you, so enjoy your vision.

Another idea is a fly /bug zapper/trap in the shade shack ,a place they can go to have a rest area, escape from being tormented during the day ? G

I like “cow house.” Short, to the point, no confusion. Whatever you call it thank you for providing some shelter from the sun and cold. I wish more farmers/ranchers would consider doing this. This was a perfect, beautiful video. I could watch all day. Sending all my love. ❤

Putting Mildred and moo together MAY make moody happy but hard to say about Mildred who is very connected to many of the goats it just might make her sad.

Their fences is going to be side by side they will still be able to see each other just not be eating each others food which is not good.. Jason is having fun now keeping Moo Man eating his food and the Goats to just eat his :(

@@carolbaughman2491 OK let's put your children or nieces and nephews who love to climb on you and play with you in a cage right next to you so you can see them but they can't eat your food. Would that be enough for you. Remember Mildred has been aunt Mildred since they was born they have climbed on her played with her slept with her are with her all their luves.
