as soon as we grouted our bathroom floor tile, we got the grout so dirty because we failed to cover and protect the grout from our boots while we continue to remodel the rest of the bathroom. It's been 1 year since it got caked and stained, leaving it the perfect opportunity to use the new Versa power cleaner from DREMEL. The Dremel Versa is a battery powered rotary tool that uses brush and scotch-brite pads to clean your work area. In this video we will be doing a comprehensive review of the Dremel Versa power cleaner.

I bought one of these not long ago. On the plus side, with the heaviest, most abrasive Brown scrubber pad that came with it I quickly removed a toilet bowl ring that had defied all other hand scrubbing and chemical treatments. ( My wife's comment was that if this was the one and only thing that the tool does well, she's OK with that!). I also found that it works moderately well for removing heavy mineral laden soap scum and scale from a fiberglass shower stall, but ran out of battery juice after about 10 or 12 minutes which is a definite check mark in the minus column. ( A Quick maintenance cleaning every 2 or 3 weeks would probably make more sense than letting the grime and grunge build-up for months before attempting to clean it with this tool, Of course we have to be careful to use a scrub pad with low abrasive action or risk damaging the fiberglass surface). I did discover that some garden variety scrub pads will stick pretty well to the Velcro like plastic Flange, and so you can probably make your own scrub pads by cutting them from ordinary scrubbers rather than buying the special more expensive ones that Dremel makes. Next I will probably try it on the glass ceramic stove cook top, but I will have to try the softest and most delicate scrubber or sponge accessory pad 1st to make sure it doesn't scratch or scuff. The real test of its usefulness will be if it can sit in a drawer for several months and still have a full charge on the batteries when we pull it back out to use it again. Anyway, I would say that this is a good tool for quick clean up jobs around the house, but if you need to do pro longed cleaning with a lot of hand pressure, you might want to try some other kind of tool such as a oscillating multi tool that has been adapted to work with a scrubber or brush, likely a strictly do-it-yourself kind of modification, or perhaps a modified cordless plm sander that has been similarly modified to accept a scrubbing disc or brush attachment.

I have been reading reviews on this and some are saying it will just intermittently shut off, having to click the power switch several times to get it to turn back on. Is this an inherent problem or maybe is the user putting to much pressure? Is anyone else having this problem?

I ordered two for Christmas gifts but wondering now if I should cancel the order. If you only get 10-15 minutes use, then this should have been made with a swappable battery, so you could have a couple spares charged up and on hand. Looks like in the current form you would need an extension cord to plug the charger into so you could leave it on charge while using it, if it will even work that way.

add a little water to a small amount of oxi clean to make a paste and apply to grout. let is set about 5 min and scrub lightly with a stiff brush and it will remove all discoloration from your grout. the oxiclean commercial was dead on. I want to try it with the versa instead of a stiff brush. would probably work awesome.

@@annafountain9863 oxy clean Is indeed fantastic stuff and I have found that it works very well for cleaning things that I never imagined it would work on. Such as cigarette tar and nicotine! You'd think you would need something oil based to remove that kind of tar but fresh oxy clean crystals in warm water are amazingly good at removing cigarette smoke.

As a guy who spent years as a lead instructor who spent many hours reviewing and grading other instructors in action - you’ve got a lot to talk about and you’re very engaging; that’s great. However, in this type of setting the audience wants answers quickly. I think you can get on stage and get off fairly quickly with the same good results. Focusing on the Dremel, my biggest worry was the battery life. If this product came corded, I’d buy it in the blink of an eye. I think I’ll pass this time.

@goodun2974
@goodun2974 4 жыл бұрын
Kyle, I Strongly disagree! Especially for this type of device, USB connectors are way too fragile and finnicky, and the upward facing location of the charge port means that water or cleaning solution or some kind of moisture will almost certainly get into the charging jack and cause corrosion and intermittent operation. Have you ever tried to change one of those connectors on any device when they go bad? I have, and it's often nearly impossible. At the very least, Dremel should have designed the tool in such a way that the charge port and power jack could be sealed off completely and protected from moisture.

I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. kzfaq.infoUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.
