You bring up an interesting point. Many of the great tag lines you list are very vague, but the companies are still successful. I wonder at what point in these businesses' growth journey did they start using these tag lines. Everyone already knows Nike for their shoes and clothing, so they don't need a tag line that states what they do. They can frankly do what they want for a tag line, and it would still be effective. Do you think Don's advice applies more to newer companies and less to established companies?

I think it's about branding and sales. All those companies can afford to focus on branding, but other small businesses should be about sales from the beginning. And I think that's Don’s message here.

McDonald’s was already a worldwide household brand before they used that tagline. They don’t need a tagline that tells you what they do because everyone already knows what they do. Their first tagline in the US was “let’s eat out”. Worldwide brands like McDonalds, Apple, Coca-Cola can afford to be clever because they’ve already established their brand into everyone’s mind. Donald’s audience isn’t these multi-billion dollar companies, so his advice isn’t for them.

I am in UK and have no idea what CBD oil is - it could be for hair/cooking/motorbiles for all I know. Listening to Donald, would it not be 'Makes hair glossy' 'Fries donuts in seconds' or 'So your bike glides smoothly' ?
