Check tank vents. Sounded like driver side had vacuum when you opened it. If vent is plugged up it won't pull from both tanks.

My dad ran a small fleet of s-series trucks. We still have three left - all 85’s; one 1600 and two 1900’s. The 1900’s have true 10-speeds. I do not like the 5+2 setup as the gears are too far apart when you shift. You can turn them up to get them to run. From the factory they were detuned pretty hard hence why they last literally forever. I wouldn’t think twice about running one of those trucks all day every day. They are the toughest medium duty trucks in my option - new or old. Also they are surprising good on fuel - dad could squeeze out 14mpg’s.

Shame on you - you know there are people that will scream when they see you putting oil in the filter like that since "it can be contaminated or dirty" - even though you just opened a new container to pour it out of 😆.
@dodge33445
@dodge33445 Жыл бұрын
ITs not about the dirt, The only reason I know this is because it happened to my buddy, a piece of the glue they use to glue the filters together got sent in the motor since it was unfiltered and caused HAVOCK . So its not from the oil.. Its either pieces from the new filter or debris .. etc .. But to each their own. We all have our own ways of doing things.. Thats why were human and this is a game of LIFE. :)

@@gthesuperman903 The glue blocked it up. it was unfiltered oil, and the GLUE from the filter on the inside came loose. The amount of time a vehicle goes without oil during a start is not enough to do anything. I have a 2nd gen ram cummins with 450,000 miles, never have I pre filled filters.. Yet shes still running like a dream .

I could have sat and watched from the shoulder camera the whole trip. Terrific post, except it was a GREAT idea, an adventure like this is something everyone should experience. Ok, maybe most everyone I should have said. Also, if you don't have a funnel, pour from jugs with the opening up.

I always punched holes in the bottom of the filters to let ‘em drain. Also I’d love a shirt or pen. Technically for fuel usage you filled up to start then used 61.61 gallons. A fill up at the the end will tell you the true usage. For the vid you put in a total of 83.21

Have you ever thought about the cell boosters with an external antenna? I used them for years, sure gives ya some major range between towers, they're around $250 & can be set up to move between vehicles... Safe travels !

You burned about 100 gallons. I had a S2155 with the DT466B (210 HP) mechanical. 5 / 2 tranny / Diff. Take a look at the two main 1" bolts in the rear suspension. Probably loose and will rattle. Watch for oil in the cooling system. Oil cooler or head gasket. Don't ask how I know these things!:) Great durable truck but without much for creature comforts. You're right about the air ride seat!!:)

Vintage? You must be a young whippersnapper lol Early 1900s to the 30's would be vintage I do believe. Maybe a classic? lol Defiantly could use some tinted windows and polish those rims and a nice exhaust stack, would be a sharp setup for sure. Just poking fun. Thats a nice find wish I had one but on a 1ton SD scale though. Thanks For Sharing Thumbs Up!

Always a watchable video from you so thank you.. OK a strange thing I have noticed before, here In the UK Diesel pumps are black while "petrol" (gas) is green, confused? each side of the pond newbies will be I guess... Our "petrol" is 2 types of rubbish only now, E5 or E10, while Diesel Is as common in cars and light trucks as gas-powered versions, and most of our 4 x 4`s are diesel powered so need nice clean non-truck stop areas to refuel.. I buy mostly diesel Landrovers myself but now we have no choice but to use pump diesel with %10 OR MORE Bio diesel added into it. Anyway, look forwards to more content videos..Last but not least, 100 miles of No mans land can be a cold place If broken down, CB still works as we get Americans when the "Skip" Is HIGH, on our home base CB here In Coastal North Essex UK, why did/ do others not use them in No man's land type areas? Ian... The UK.
