Necrit really just forgot about Milo (kind of understandable) but more importantly SONG OF FREAKING NUNU, the best thing to come out of the league IP since Arcane.

As someone who played a shit ton of hollow knight and became obsessed with the lore, I would pay a good sum to hear necrit get deep into the lore of the game

I can just imagine the pressure Riot workers have. The community is so critical about everything even we don't know what's really happening in the background. I'm sure they listen to the feedback but they have to prioritize what to do first and what things to focus cause they can't do everything at once

All things considered I think it's pretty cool that League didn't die this year. What with the source code leakage, scripter rampancy, scandals and more. Despite the absolute buttache of a blood pressure this game gave me, I still love it. I grew up playing it. It was there at my lowest and at my highs and unironically enough, it's been a constant. I hope S14 surprises us, here's to a new year to league and to everyone!

it's weird they felt the need to emphasize focusing on "fun over competitiveness", as if that was a new development and not the modus operandi for the past roughly 3 to 5 years. The only exception to that was the loss of the event specific modes (i.e. darkstar thresh, starguardians, odyssey, project, etc.) there hasn't been a change to ranked matchmaking, lp gain/loss, balance patches in the past 5 years that hasn't benefited incoming players at the expense of competitive integrity xD And while it's tolerated in other regions then they can't seem to figure out why that was a huge contributing factor that made the for-fun-mentality NA region stop watching professional play.

I think a major reason why people (me included) dont care mich about newer champions or actively dislike them, is because they dont fit into the fantasy genre, like the characters dont seem like they could ever appear in an classical fantasy game

Love league lore and all and got burnt out on the same game but the new updates made me happy af

Took a break from league (summoner’s rift, still played tft, arams and arena) in 2023 after I hit diamond around april. Totally ready and charged up for a new season of depressing ranked games

Esports bros were also eating well with how worlds cinematics looked and the eventual T1 victory

My fav year so far just because briar and arena came out lol Briar my fav champ now with a bit over 600 ranked games played on her And Battleritelite I mean arena is super super super fun

Season 13 was my least played season since I started playing back in Season 5. Hopefully Season 14 will change that.

Aside from Arena, I don't think Riot actualy did anything good for League this year while doing many many bad things so I can't understand how you can have confident in League again.

So, as someone completely casual with League, maybe I'm just out of the loop as to why this would be unlikely, but... (Fancy animatic rendered in unreal) --> (2025 will change League forever) I caught a hint of this at the first quote but it really hit me with the second; What if Riot's just transitioning League's graphics to an upgraded (probably, but not guaranteed Unreal) engine. I'd argue that will "Change League forever" and unreal runs relatively smoothly so most people shouldn't feel the change.

I wouldn't put any confidence in them. This was supposed to be the year of the highest budget and they...released one new game mode.

My guess is they are porting league to Unreal Engine. Maintain a code base so old as League with the revolving developers is very hard. That is why lots of bugs happened.

At the very least we can see the budget approved for 2023 materially improved the quality of the league product as a hole as the year went by and the projects being invested in were successful enough by their internal metrics to warrant further increases within specific teams. Meaning that 2024 and 2025 should continue this trend. Obviously this lull in 2022 and early 2023 should’ve never happened and The LoL team/Riot should’ve been more active in replacing veteran talent going to Valorant/TFT/MMO and leaving during the COVID shuffle. But things are back on track.

If the big egg champion is related to next lunar new year animal (the year of the dragon), then maybe we get the new champion sooner tan expected

This year was just rough for league despite having their "biggest budget ever" It's the first year since season 4 that I didn't even play a single ranked game. It's the year I played the least amount of league of legends, and it seemed like Riot just didn't care about league anymore. I'm cautiously hopeful for next season. I've been playing a bit more with Arena and ARAM recently. The removal of mythics is really nice tbh. Maybe I'm huffing copium. give me the void event pls riot

i love the star guardian event, but im biased because id been waiting since star guardian lux came out for my girl Sona to become a Star Guardian...

I like the fun aspect that Riot is going for, the game modes and all (even though they arent my dig, but i see the appeal). But i dont know, Riot hasnt been focused on their competitive play at all. For the last couple years, they have shown that they wont fix game-breaking bugs, small bugs like Tristana E not passively procing on minion deaths (2 or 3 times a game in some instances), and the biggest one, the large influx of griefer accounts in ranked destroying the game piece by piece. The competitive side of league is just deteriorating because instead of actually helping things that matter in competitive play, they worry about things like pinging too much, or providing information to your teammates, reguardless of if the intention was toxic or not. Its every second or third game a summoner will die 2 or 3 times in lane, be it from ganks or whatever, and that player will follow the jungle and try to take camps from them, or go to a lane to start running into tower. In the last year, i have only ever seen ONE of these players banned for said actions. Out of daily players. Riots lore development, game mode development, and skin development teams did an excellent job this year. But people really dont understand that Riot has never cared about the competitive scene at all. They just make the game harder for players who enjoy the competitive experience of league, and easier for players who want to troll to be able to do so without hinderance.

Arena needs to be a permanent game mode. They need to remove/reduce how much RNG is it, and balance champs a bit more... Maybe then it will work beyond a novelty game.
