You have no idea how much respect I have for you truly covering the PWHL in the same way you do the NHL. So many people seem to cast aside women’s sports as a whole when it’s such an incredible other side of sports that’s just as skilled as the men. Keep it up Eck, we love you
@TheEpicEndermanTV5 ай бұрын
They are great no doubt it’s just comparing them to the nhl is unfair, people shouldn’t expect the same from the PWHL

As a father to two little girls who are absolutely obsessed with hockey, this league is a huge W. My girls have never needed validation in their love for the sport, but seeing other women play at this level and with THIS much support?.. I haven't seen them so excited. This is so cool, man. Happy dad here.

I like the smaller venues for the start of this league. Makes it easier to have a full crowd and puts the fans closer to the action. Make the games a loud, soldout, fun time rather than presumably making it a quieter, emptier experience in a larger arena.

@@rossrobertson674 Right, most stadiums/arenas/parks/etc. in most sports can tarp/close off sections when applicable. I'm been to plenty of really bad Padres teams' games in giant Qualcomm where like 30k+ seats are tarped off. lmao All the seats sold are closer to the action but It's still a half-empty venue. I'm saying that having the games in smaller places eliminates that all together. Personally, given the same crowd size, I'd rather watch a game in a packed and more intimate venue that a larger one with half empty seats or whatever. That's just my personal preference.

What people are forgetting is that up until now these women have had to work everyday jobs ontop of training and practicing their game, this is the first time there is a league put together that financially supports these skilled players and overtime we will see them develop their talents even more now that they can finally put their focus on hockey without being worried about financially support themselves and their families

They put out a really good product, i am impressed. Games are packed and loud, teams are competitive and skilled enough to be entertaining, they managed to get a little bit more excitement out of their new rules (loooove the pk goal ending the pp, and the 3-2-1-0 system has been begged for for years at this point), and streaming it for free is a good idea to develop and reach the viewerbase. Apart from the bland branding, they couldn't have hoped for a better start. Here's to many more years of pro women's hockey !

2:36 - That's what I see, too. Lots of flubbed passes and passes just behind players. Because of that, it's an easier defensive game. But that's because these are literally 6 expansion teams, so pretty much none of the players have ever played together before. Give the league a couple seasons for players to get legitimate experience playing with each other (and for execs, eg: GMs, to get a feel for what players might work with who they already have) and you'll see the quality go up a lot. Not to mention getting used to the rather unique rules. I already think the games are already entertaining as it is. If the league gets its chance, it could really grow into something impressive.
