Whoever told you the Beatles are overrated is entitled to their wrong opinion.

Who the hell said they were overrated? They are arguably the best rock band ever. I'm not even the biggest fan and I know that. Their songs are timeless.

Anyone who calls them "overrated " doesn't know anything about music.

In April of 2017 my mother passed away after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. She had requested my husband make her a play list on his Ipod of all her favorite songs to listen to while she was on her deathbed. There were hundreds of songs she requested for her file so she could listen to. Like I said, it was April when she passed and it was the first "real" day of spring that we had seen. Flowers blooming and a nice breeze to keep the windows open. Her bed was directly underneath a window, which was open. The moment she passed and took her last breath that afternoon, this song played, out of ALL the songs that could have played (it was on shuffle), this was the one that played. The sun shining through the window glowing on her skin with a warm yellow glow and the drapes blowing in the wind. If you listen to this song with death as the meaning it fits very well. To me this song will always have a different meaning now. I believe my mom played this song for us family to give us comfort and let us know she was okay. This song is the most special song in my heart, it always will be now. ❤

The most endearing thing about the Beatles, in my opinion, is that even songs that were silly were catchy. You find yourself singing along to "Octopus's Garden" like it's the most natural thing in the world. It takes sheer talent to pull that kind of thing off.

The rooftop concert, thier last performance together, is my favorite for bittersweet reasons. After everything they had been through, they gave us one last look at the miracle that was the Beatles. This is my favorite song in the entire world. My mother used to sing it to me before bed. I continued the Beatles tradition with my daughters, but they ended up liking Blackbird better and their daddy learned to play it on the guitar and sing it to them before bed. My son went back to Here Comes the Sun, so it’s something I have with him, and my daughters have Blackbird with their dad. ❤️
