Yeah bro, Neoptism, at ANY job, is always hated when it's "unearned". It especially matters to the ones getting skipped over. Look at Ken Griffey Sr and Jr for comparison tho. They played on the same team in baseball. Cool... whatever. But Griffey Jr was the 1st overall pick in the draft. He didn't "cut corners" or use his superstar dad's influence to get in thru the back door. After the draft, his dad got himself traded to Seattle so they could play together. He didn't rely on nepotism and the result was, fan or not, it was cool to see. Bronny isn't even NBA material - 6'0, cant shoot, terrible playmaker. His daddy just wanted the narrative of being able TO SAY he played with his son, so he pulled strings to force HIS team to take him anyway. It's true, they'll be 1st father-son duo to play together.. but it's tainted, and cheap. I'm a LBJ hater, but if the kid waited, improved, and got drafted because he belonged, then, fan or not, I'd say, Yeah, playing with his son IS super impressive and cool to see.
@michaeljohnson2823
@michaeljohnson2823 Ай бұрын
Not every criticism should be considered hate. That’s the problem with social media and the regular media. People should be able to criticize a team or player without being called a hater. Example: saying Lebron is not the goat is not hating, but probably saying Lebron isn’t a top 10 player, maybe considered hate. There is nothing wrong with Bron using his power to get his son drafted. But to say that Bronny isn’t an nba caliber player and probably should have stayed in school is not hating.

The irony of sports is that people forget that it's a business first (jerseys being 150+ dollars, ticket prices are expensive, tv partnership deals, etc). Jonn , I totally understand your frustration and skepticism, but you have to understand that keeping Lebron is the best business decision the Lakers can make right now. LBJ is the one of the most popular athletes in the world and he brings along tv deals, merch sales, higher ticket prices, etc. If Jeanie let Lebron go, that could be millions of dollars lost in revenue. Think about it this way, it's better to have a mediocre team with one popular player vs a mediocre team with no name players no one cares about. Sure most people.would be happy if the Lakers went into a rebuild and stopped kowtowing to Lebron, but eventually the organization would start getting less coverage, tv deals, primetime game spotlights, etc. I don't agree with their decision, but I acknowledge and understand it.

LeBALCO is a LeLOSER!!! I’m not sure why fans continue to see LeOLDMAN as still being an “elite” player?! He has been a bust, to say the least, during his stint as a Laker! Historically speaking, the VALUE of a high salary Laker player has been their ability to lead and/or significantly contribute to the team on multiple championship runs. LeCHUMP has done neither in his tenure as a Laker… and Laker fans do not see that because they desperately want to believe that 2020 was a REAL championship! The FACTS demonstrate quite the opposite, and that he has been fleecing the organization for HIS own gain, and NOT for the team: - age 34 (2019-season 16), Lakers, 37-45 Reg, Did NOT Make Playoffs, - age 35 (2020-season 17), Lakers, 52-19 Reg, **Won** (4-2) NBA COVID Bubble *championship*, - age 36 (2021-season 18), Lakers, 42-30 Reg, Lost (2-4) 1st Round Playoffs, - age 37 (2022-season 19), Lakers, 33-49 Reg, Did NOT Make Playoffs, - age 38 (2023-season 20), Lakers, 43-39 Reg, Swept in WC Finals, - age 39 (2024-season 21), Lakers, 47-35 Reg, Lost (1-4) 1st Round Playoffs The season PRIOR, and SUBSEQUENT seasons, demonstrate how ill-equipped/unable he is to lead the Lakers to a championship. When you look at all the data critically, one will discover that it’s actually been A.D. that has carried the Lakers as far as they have gone! Games where LeCLUNK is NOT on the court seem to go much better for the Lakers. The biggest farse and BS is LeTOXIC’s +/-… if you watch the games with an eye to how the team fares while he is on court vs not on court, one will see that the team generally performs BETTER when he is off the court! LeLOSER is a washed up old man that is able to hold the mindless hostage while he only benefits financially and otherwise (Bronny?). Let him GO, and build a team of young players around A.D. and Lakers will begin to salvage what little is left of their dignity and importance in the league!

JJ becoming the head coach is genuinely a coincidence, even though it's a suspect one. Fact is, nobody else was willing to take the job as the Lakers head coach. Regardless of what happens, I think we can all agree the Lakers as a franchise has lost the respect of basically everyone else. I could understand a player like Lebron being able to strong arm a small market team desperate to remain relevant by keeping him and his marketing power. But the Lakers? They don't need any one player. Players should want to come play to the Lakers, not the other way around. Extremely pathetic series of moves by the organization.

In hindsight the klutch sports era will be remembered as a reign of terror and intimidation which damaged the sport and several franchises for years. The Heat resisted, the Celtics or the Spurs didn´t fall for this nonsense, but those very well run organisations are the exception and even they have to work in an incerasingly changing environment. Adam Silver will be watched as a collaborateur btw.

He wants it to end with him playing with his son and apparently sharing coaching duties with someone whose ideas about basketball he respects. Great points, Jonny! I'm not surprised that Bronny doesn't seem as excited to play with his dad - not just bc of the understandable desire to be his own man but also bc of all the attention, scrutiny, and pressure that would come with them both being on the same team. I also agree with your other points. The Lakers' management has tried too hard to appease LeBron and haven't really made many moves that will benefit the team for the future. Too much focus on LeBron and definitely not enough for the post-Lebron years. Their decisions (not just this year but in the past several years) have been questionable and I think your concerns are understandable. Great video again! Hope you have a great week :)
