re Hojlund As a Arsenal fan, the moment I saw him play against us earlier in the season I knew he was a quality signing gave Gabriel something to think about , physically his hold up and link up play is exceptional I would say better than Haaland in that respect. Score all kinds of goals , strong and has a very deceptive pace and acceleration . Funniest thing about him now is hes still not really getting proper service from his wide players, united just need someone that can cross and play him in more and he will cook. Kinda jealous as we dont have a striker .

His hold-up play has improved so much in a short time. Hopefully, he becomes better at controlling the ball while holding the play up.

Always had very good back to goal game. Problem was fucking antony dunno how tf to make runs of the fucking ball that’ll hurt opponents and rashford never gets his ass in gear unless he’s got the ball at his feet. Honestly, play hojlund with saka and martinelli and dude would shit goals and assists for fun

I love Rashford and Garnacho, but considering the potential Hojlund has, I always wonder how he he’s being limited due to having two shot first wingers on the wings. Having Luke Shaw and Dalot overlapping and crossing probably helps him getting more chances, but I feel like our Striker getting 1 shot in the 60 ish minutes after the first goal is crazy

@@AtlantisFootballbut surely you need the right type of players to suit a system, and squad building is certainly about chemistry, than just putting any world class/top class talents, I think we fumbled when we brought Ronaldo (a penalty box 9, with limited link up and hold up play), despite for the previous 2 season having 2 shoot first wingers, in Rashford and Greenwood, and the chemistry wasn't really there, on the pitch

@AtlantisFootball I don't think I ever disagree with you that's for sure but in this case I have to. Rashford is lazy, selfish and has less than elite decision making in the final third. Surely Ten Hag's tactics, even if they are questionable, aren't forcing Rashford to utilise those undesirable attributes? Garnacho deserves time to develop his decision making because he is extremely young and has the potential to be world class.

@@cameronjones8641 yeah but the tactical issues aren’t to do with rashford. They are to do with the defensive shape which constantly leaves Dalot in 2 vs 1 with that massive space left in the left sided half space. Also the problem in possession is in the midfield with United not able to break down defensive units, meaning they constantly try to transition the attack quickly. In order to get the best out of Rashford and Garnacho the need over and under laps which we do in some games but in other games we barely see any at all and only create on the counter

Dalot actually showed it yesterday. I think it was Onana who directly gave him that perfect ball in behind. The pattern explained in this video is the exact thing done by Mourinho's Tottenham. Kane dropped behind and Son directly ran in behind the space he created. I seriously think that the slow patient possession style isn't a Man United thing. I don't want us to play like Man City or Arsenal. I want us to control games and possess the ball whenever necessary but be extremely deadly on transitions. For now, it is opposite, relying only on counters. Let's hope this changes next season with better signings (and outgoings!!).

You've likened Hojlund to Adriano, falcao etc.. Looking at this analysis, I actually liken him to Kane. Great goalscorer, poacher, comes deep and links play with Son & Kulusevski just like hojlund did with Garnacho & bruno.. fantastic play.

Mount might be a better fit for that kind of play (from my point of view) ETH could use both but not at the same time on the pitch. They need to analyse the next match and see what weaknesses they have and play which ever player would be better.

Hojlund got the build, the physical strength, composure, the eye for a goal, poacher style, able to make a run. We have our own Harry Kane & he’s 21. We just need backup strikers for him.

Hes a complete forward. Like van persie . Hes just big. Just stick him up front and let him lead the line, drop deep , link play . Doesn't need instructions. He will just do it . Complete forward . He can see and pick a pass .

United need to build a front 3 of garnacho, hojlund and diallo and I feel diallo will assist hojlund more than garnacho like sancho and haaland at dortmund. Also, I suggest united sign lois openda and form another trio with rashford and forson/sancho and help hojlund up front.

hojlund should keep making the drop offs instead of staying with the cb. he drags players because they want to mark him. if he added giroud's link up play style, he will be very difficult to play

What did you think about the overall team performance?? Every week’s inferior performance is conformation to Ten Hag is not good enough. Luton played great football. Paul Scholes said “Weird team Utd… Reckon they could be the only team that could win 5 nil and get hammered!!” Luton had 60% ⚽️ possession in the 1st half.

as much as it hurts me to say it, i see why Ten Hag has sent Alvaro out on loan despite us lacking in that position, he has 3 players basically starting who are under 20yrs old, as well as others on the bench so instead of keeping him to play the very odd game, better he is out on loan....i really hope we dont sell him

The age doesn’t matter. We’ve got Eriksen and Casemiro whose legs are completely gone. 20 is the perfect age. He just doesn’t think he’s good enough apparently which is why Benfica have an option to buy in the contract

It doesn't HAVE to be the full back making that run in behind...it should ideally just be anyone who is faster than their marker. Settle down on the calls for expensive transfers or shitting on current players. Anyone can learn to do this.

Can u make a video of bruno not being suitable as a n.10. I can't be asked to look at his "hot potato" style of playing. Never going for the short 1 on 1's and always hoping for a counter attack style long balls. Secondly he is always in other players positions. First playing below or next to mainoo only to pass it back to the defenders and then rum above hojlund...

I'd recommend mainoo as the 10 and case and amrabat behind him. Yes ambrabat and case might not be the best progressors but if mainoo was to drop to get the ball. I promise u we would either hold up the ball better or we would move the ball better up the pitch without any hopeful long balls

Do you really believe that De Zerbi is a better manager than Ten Hag? It's the funniest thing I see fans do. They think a new manager doing okay elsewhere is better than what they have. Then he comes in and they think someone else is better than him too. What's funny about the De Zerbi situation is that there's no substantial proof. He's doing okay at Brighton but we haven't seen him really do anything better than Potter. Potter made that step up but got sacked at Chelsea. Why are people convinced De Zerbi would be any different?

It’s not funny at all, de Zerbi’s system has proved be better tactically in the last few seasons, hence why Pep has adopted elements of it. There is substantially proof with what he’s done with Brighton and what he did previously in Italy. He’s doing more than okay at Brighton lmao 🤣 if he’s doing just okay, ten Hag’s doing terribly but that level. Ten Hag would have been sacked at Chelsea, he’s lucky he didn’t get sacked at United. De Zerbi is one of the best managers around no doubt about it

Injuries aren’t anything to do with it mate. We were out of everything competition bar the Fa cup by January and have been abysmal all season. It’s to do with how he sets up the side tactically not the injuries
