Growing up in the 60's in Illinois we kids had the entire run of the neighborhood. Mom's looked out for kids. Dad's put bandages on skinned knees. When hoses came out for sprinkling in the heat everyone played in it no matter the yard. We went in for lunch and back for dinner and went in when the street lights came on. This was our summer routine. HOWEVER, my father was an alcoholic. We would beat my mother in front of us no matter how hard she tried to get him away from us or us away from him. One night, a particularly bad night, my mother was working. We had a lovely 16 year old sitter named Sharon. My father was really drunk. He placed a kitchen chair in the center of the kitchen so he could see both the front and back doors. His shotgun across his lap waiting for my mom to come home. There were five of us kids. Sharon quitely took all of us kids to the back bedroom. She opened the window and put my oldest sister and brother out first so they could catch the rest of us. She then quietly took us through backyards until we were at her parents house. She called our mom at work and saved her life and our life that night. She was only 16 and had the presence of mind to save us all, herself included. I miss her.

I know, right? But calling them what they are and saying what you think should happen to these Monsters is treated like a capital offense by the KZfaq community standards police! I get mad and comment after some of these videos and get called out by them every damn time! Sometimes I wish they'd just ban me already. LOL! Truth is, they're putting so much pressure on some creators right now that this time next year it'll probably just be a shell of what it is today. Management, that's not worried about taking care of their creators and helping nurture what each of them have been able to build in a few short years. Management, that's more interested in sucking as much blood (money) as they can bleed from them, while there's still blood to be had. I believe they can read the handwriting on the wall and figure that they know their time is short.

I lived in Anchorage when this happened. I was absolutely horrified about it. All I could think about was how those 2 little girls did what they were told. Go to their room and wait. And they did, they went to their room and waited to be killed. That freaked me out so badly that I (being a fairly neurotic parent.... my poor kids...) anyway, that freaked me out so badly that I told my oldest that if anyone, and I meant ANYONE, came over and I told her to take the 2 littler kids into their room and wait, that they were to go out the window, immediately.

It really is hard to let our children grow up carefree and naïve… I was raised that way. Sheltered. I was shocked to enter the real world- I trusted most everyone and was taken advantage of many times… truth is needed. I am very real with my children because it could save their lives. There are evil people in the world. There are teachers, police, aunts,or strangers that could hurt you. It sucks to have to do this, but I believe it is necessary.

@@imabeardsley9280 I was raised in the care-free environment. We moved to AK when I was 7. Summers were awesome. We hit the ground running in the morning, checked in at lunchtime and everyone went home as soon as 1 parent started calling. Our parents never knew where we were, we were "outside playing". My kids never knew that freedom. I had to know where EXACTLY they were, and they had a check in time. Now that I'm a gramma, my grandkids have the same rules. A lot of it has to do with my "generalized anxiety disorder with panic attacks", my mind starts going and it never ends well...but I'm not smothering. I do let them go out and about in the neighborhood. I just need to know, if they aren't right out front, where they're going to be. :) I do miss the care-free days though....

The point I always make to people is that defense attorneys have a 'job' to do. Some times defense attorneys are appointed by the Court to represent the client. Whether they agree with their client or not, their job is to provide a good defense challenging every argument of the prosecution. To not do so means they aren't doing what they have sworn, as a lawyer, to do. If they don't do that - well that's when people win mistrials and appeals to charges they may or may not be guilty.

This is absolutely horrendous! Not only am I sickened, saddened, and disgusted, but the word monster doesn’t even begin to describe someone who would do this to others - especially to children. I have three young grandchildren - and while they can’t be kept in a bubble or away from the outside world, it really scares the shit out of me that animals like this roam the earth and walk among them…among us all. My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones - as well as anyone else out there who has been a victim of such violence❤️

He was likely in the closet (bisexual or indiscriminate), the whole time and now he likely predates 'young native boys' because that behemoth, in his psyche that loves power is likely, uninterested in strictly reciprocal/requited, exchange. The kids realize its not fun to be hungry and know they understand what the pets go through when they forget to do something so simple. It teaches them to not just think about themselves. The first time they forgot I was at work and asked them to feed the pets dinner. Well I worked late and got home at 10pm. They were STILL playing video games while all the pets were crying!!! Selfish!!! So the next night they didn't eat dinner and went to bed hungry. And you know what NEVER again have they ever forgotten to feed the pets and actually now remind me if I am late in feeding them!!

I wonder if Giles would ever consider doing a video on the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. I JUST learned about these poor souls this week, and have been having a hard time sleeping because the story of their deaths is just so gut wrenching. Seriously, I have heard tons of dark tales, like most of the folks who love channels like these. And for some reason, my sick brain is usually able to be relatively unmoved, and I always consider this kind of content as entertainment (again, I know that sounds sick/bad). BUT I really regret learning about Channon and Christopher. It's really got me distressed in a way I have never experienced. I think part of it is because there were 5 perpetrators who did unspeakable things to them, rather than just 1 sicko. That's what we usually hear about- the lone evil monster. But with this particular story, it hurts my heart knowing that 5 people could get together and all agree to commit such heinous acts against two young kids who were about to go out on a Saturday night. They were literally scooped up by the perps during a carjacking and taken to a house in a rough neighborhood. It was there that unspeakable things were done to them. For as gut wrenching as it is, I would love to hear Giles do a series on this one- maybe one episode on each perpetrator, going into detail as to how they came to be such monsters. As a mental health professional, I am very curious what goes wrong in one's life to turn them so evil and depraved. Anyway, if anyone doesn't already know about this case and you're considering reading up on it, please know it's going to hit you in a really tough way.
