Thor was never the most powerful Hero he always had contenders for that title and Hulk was Definetly one of them

For some reason having an OP character is considered boring. They aren't of course, it just matters of they are written well. But it is considerably harder to write because what could possibly threaten someone who can do anything. I think that if they can find interesting thing for him to do and find creative ways to use him it would be fine.

@@tparker1842 I completely disagree. I read comics for content that entertains, uplifts and/or ennobles, or at least teaches me something. I find no joy in content that tortures, humiliates, debases or disrespects people, ideas or symbols that I care about. Just like how the company we keep says something about us, so too do the types of diversions we seek. "You are what you eat" applies to the mind as well, not just the body. The only positive thing I can say about God Butcher is that it was well drawn ... how's that for damned by faint praise ?

The best part of the story is that all those who sit high are not as good or glorious as they are made out to be and for a lesson is sometimes in the pursuit to disprove or even in this story dethrone those in a hierarchy we might in the end become the very monsters we seek to destroy. Thor has to reevaluate his whole mindset of what gods are and their place to mortals not, all gods answer prayers. Then in the same story we see the common person who was damned and forgotten rise up in vengeance and ascertaining power enough to kill gods who he views as evil become evil in the eyes of his own child. Is it wholesome and uplifting? No neither is life, but does it speak of society and the place of class and position in the world absolutely. The fact that jason took that one story and connected it through years of storytelling is amazing, it didn't end with six or even twelve issues. But years of writing.

But, more to your point sure you are what you eat? I myself don't like to pretend that because i read about sunshine and rainbows that a rainy day won't come because of a positive mindset. I love to read about the "fall from grace" because I've gone through that. So I can relate to dark stories, even the ones that don't end with a pretty bow and a happy ending. Because that's not life. Life is a string of mediocre moments with some brief great instances, if every moment was good you would never appreciate them. So yeah Gwen stacy dies, and she doesn't get wished back magically and lives with peter happily ever after(ignoring any clone stuff) but to see a hero go through the lose and still come out on the otherside, maybe not better but still there trying to move on... that's the good stuff
