I'd like to believe Odin deliberately sent the Valkyries to their deaths. They must have been part if his past campaigns, and were thus, witnesses to Asgard's dark history. Odin was banking on Hela to massacre the Valkyries. He'd then swoop in to banish her. Still, it's a shame. Good soldiers dying for nothing.

More like this. Odin knew ho could destroy Hela. But he loved her too much. So he wanted Valkyries to destroy her, in his failure to overcome love for his daugther, many of innocents died.

It interesting to notice that when Loki realizes she is a Valkyrie, he switches from killing to "weak". So positioning himself in a position where he could see her memories.

When you stop and think about it, the MCU version of Valkyrie is actually a good example of PTSD; she watched all of her comrades brutally massacred and felt so much anger and shame over the whole thing that she abandoned everything which reminded her of her old life, adopting a materialistic and cynical mindset to prevent old wounds from reopening. The best part is that even after Thor changes her mind and she becomes a champion of the Asgardians once again, she still retains some of this attitude, symbolizing that such trauma doesn’t really go away (also, Thanos killing half of her people wouldn’t have helped, either).

Either none of the Valkyries died, some died, most of them died or the rest of the Valkyries died. It’s unknown since Thanos killed half of the universe and it is also unknown as to which living beings died of the majority died. Of course we know some of them but not all of them. I don’t mean to be a pain in the arse, I just felt like pointing it out.

she is based off a valkyrie legend of a similar name. Brundlee, her story is similarly tragic where the man whom she loved died and she killed herself. Here, her girlfriend died and she turn to drink hoping to die of intoxication

There are many beings in the marvel cinamatic universe that are incredibly powerful, stronger than Thanos and basically invincible. Odin was insanely strong, he managed to stay on top of the 9 realms as their protector for thousands of years. He had the power to overthrow many other realms, had some infinity stones at his disposal from time to time and a daughter that rivaled his own strength. He stopped conquering worlds at one point, sealed away his war crazy daughter and lived his years just as a protector or the realms Hela, as Odins first born was almost as strong as him. Especially powerful on her home turf. Ego was literally a living planet who sought to overthrow the universe by planting seeds in other worlds to extent himself. He didn't succeed due to the lack of understanding of his son peter quill and trying to manipulate him to help him. Surtur, with the eternal flame he was even stronger than beings such as Odin ( I assume) or Hela. Fulfilled his prophecy in Ragnarök. These were just some strong beings out of the MCU and there are a ton more in the comics. But I agree that these 3 together could have been insanely strong. Especially after Thor reached his peak in power in infinity war.

@@vn9574 Are we just going to ignore the fact that he bested the Hulk in hand to hand combat without using the stones? Or how he was more than a match for Iron man, Thor and Captain America while using some random sword, or maybe the fact that he can hold an Infinity stone in his hand with little to no consequence? Even without the gauntlet Thanos is terrifying; he is smart, strong as fuck and has an almost unbreakable will to carry out what he thinks is right. It’s kinda like that line from Spider-Man Homecoming: if you’re nothing without the suit(gauntlet in this case) then you shouldn’t have it

In the comics, WITHOUT the Gauntlet he's strong enough to stomp the Hulk and Sentry, knows enough magic and energy powers to give Dr Strange a run for his money. Thanos without the Gauntlet is strong enough to take out all of the Avengers. In the comics he's more of a cosmic being, in the MCU he's just a big strong warrior

Hela, Surtur (with Eternal Flame), and Dormmamu are the top 3 strongest villains in the MCU without the Infinity Stones. Thanos is only stronger when he has 3-6 stones.

For people who don’t understand how Loki can do the same enchantment like Sylvie is because this Loki is from the future. the Loki we saw in the loki series is from the past. So basically this Loki in this video is from 2017. Loki in Loki Series is 2012. Between those time he must’ve already learnt that enchantment like sylvie.

in an earlier scene, hela literally kills all of asgard's soldiers dedicated in protecting their kingdom. that scene had zero emotions because to hela, genocide is as easy as pie. but in this scene, valkyrie is one of those who survived hela's fights. this scene has emotion because she had to remember all that pain, even for a brief moment.

What's crazy about this scene is that "Valk" was clearly in the first wave of Valkyries. Hel slaughtered that entire wave including the queen of the Valkyries. In that last kill shot you can see hundreds more Valkyries flooding into Hel's realm, all of them charging into a massacre. Amazing detail to the depth of that tragedy

also that the horses are very fast and tough... valkyrie's horse in the final battle against alternate thanos was dodging energy blasts from the ship and fought leviathans, carrying two people at once while flying, and even took a hit from a blast and continued on

Can you imagine end game against Hela ? Portals opens and everybody comes out from portals. Many necro swords fly to portals after that everybody is dead or dying. The end XD

except she has no way of countering the mirror dimension like thanos did so all those swords wont do shit, then when dr. strange uses shadow clone jutsu and uses the 1000 magic whips she is defeated... by a single avenger lol

Valkyries should have invested more time training on artillery and archery divisions. Swords and steeds don’t mean shit when the opponent is OP’ed heavily with projectile weapons.

I don’t think they have faced an opponent like Hela before. Normally I am sure their durability is enough to conquer anything. No need for archery or artillery. Hela is just too strong. Necro swords are piercing everything . Armor , shield, asgardian skin all meaningless. I felt so bad for Valkyries. It doesn’t matter how incredibly strong warrior you are against a foe like this. Hela is literally the death...

@@pangerangaz2160 still not enough considering Hela is on her prime here. As what the comment above states, necroswords can pretty much slice through everything it even impaled Surtur. And to consider the way Hela fights, being outnumbered is probably the very last thing she'll get to worry about.

Wait ao y'all knew she could summon infinite swords the fly out at high speeds and any size practically almost unkillable by normal means! her title is THE goddess of death, pillaged and desamated realms and lives. She so powerful only being like surtter (or infinity gauntlet thanos) can face her. And your plan of attack was to just fly in front of her with numbers in a straight line screaming? What'd you think was gonna happen.

@@bd06m0030 She was basically in the Asgardian Navy Seals. Thor and Loki -- Hella, too -- are supposed to be the most powerful, under Odin. How they handle her character makes no sense. She's a drunken slave trader with PTSD and then Thor decides to make her ruler of Asgard.

Variant Loki was taken by the TVA straight after the first avengers movie, while Ragnarok!Loki lived through Thor 2 and 3, so he had more time to perfect his magic

@@Bloodhound7 Plus there were swarms still coming in the background. Seeing as powerful she is, the most logical plan was to surround her then overwhelm with superiors numbers. Any other plan could very well be completely ruined upon first contact, so the results would most likely have been the same.
