Is it also common for this pain to originate from the mid upper back. I think trapezium or rhomboids (looking at diagrams). A past physio once massaged the 1st rib through the clavicle area and i felt like that was hitting the source.

This is exactly what is giving me pain currently. I also have, as you mentioned in the video, extreme tightness in my traps. Why is this and why does it not react to anything whether it be masasage, dry needling, or stretching?

What if the pec minor is tight, but the pain is on the medial edge and high up on the scapula and there is no winging? I got this a few days ago, and the pain is real bad, especially if I'm sitting down in front of the computer. What seems to fix it temporarily is smashing the armpit with a lacrosseball. I think what's actually happening is that the scapula gets pushed medially as if it was stuck out there. Pretty weird because the scapula really isn't stuck. It seems to move normally and I can't see any winging or such. It does hurt a bit in the serratus anterior area when I'm doing scapular pushups though. But no winging as far as I can tell. Another thing that eases the pain temporarily is all kinds of external rotation exercises and abduction movements and lower trap activation stuff.

Classic Rhomboid minor barking because of countering the pec minor.

​@@hollandmassagereflexology2000 Thanks a lot! Sounds reasonable since poking in the rhomb minor area where it hurts seems to also decrease pain and irritation. I guess the remedy would be massaging and stretching the pec minor? But why would activating the rhomb minor decrease pain (as retraction like theraband pullaparts seems to help temporarily)? To me that sounds a bit counterintuitive since the rhomb minor would then just be even more overworked. Or am I missing something?

@@cybermanne I would only focus on pec minor. RM is overworking and needs the pec minor to reverse its hypertonicity. :)

@@hollandmassagereflexology2000 Yeah. I've been trying to get it to calm down. But it's really stubborn. So I was trying to figure out what the root cause of the pec minor being so "spastic", especially since there is no scapular winging. The only thing I've found is that the lats on the same side seems to not want to allow the humerus to externaly rotate in an oh position. I've done some butcher block stretches for lats while holding a dowel forcing ext rot. This and improving T-spine rotation seems to help the pec minor relax a bit. I'm not sure of what the connection would be though. Any thoughts?

@@cybermanne I take a drumstick with two hands and drive into the coracoid process to de signal origin of Bicep's Brachii, Coracobrachialis, and insertion of pec minor. It has never failed for me but each person is different so let us know what becomes successful for you. Good fortune!
