PLEASE SEE MY WEB SITE FOR DIAGNOSTIC PACK at thoroughperformance.com
My name is Christian Langeder from thoroughperformance.com . I am an equine soft tissue therapist specialising in the physical care of performance horses. I have been treating animals since 1999.
I work with horses in all manner of sport including Racing, Eventing, Dressage and Polo. Some of the horses I treat include Cranbourne cup winners Blue Collar Jack and Boom N Zoom, 2011 Perth Cup winner Guestwing, 2010 Mumm Stakes winner Status symbol. In Dressage, Cipriani, Mayfly, Avignon IV and AEA Metallic are among some of the Prix St George horses in my care.
My work is influenced by Bowen therapy (Fascial Kinetics), Emmett (EQUUS Muscle Management), Hatchards Way and my own experience of 13 years, it is based on fascial and muscular manipulation and the nervous system. It is very gentle and non invasive although extremely effective for treating physical soreness or restrictions.
After treating horses for many years I realised that not many owners knew if their horses were sore, they only knew that they felt "off". When speaking to my veterinary colleagues and trainers I found that they also weren't clear on how to simply assess a treatable soft tissue injury or restriction. I would like to share some of these with you in this video series.
In this physical care of performance horses video from thoroughperformance.com I'm demonstrating the eleven reaction points of soreness that I use to assess equine back soreness. I want to share these with you so you have a much better understanding of how your horse feels and what you can do about it. This is all about getting the most out of your performance horse; educating you to get the best performance possible form your animal, and to determine if your horse's health is compromised in any way.

So take five minutes now to go check out your horse's back for muscular soreness using my reaction points and come back and drop me a line here to tell me what you found.

fantastic job, very well done... this is the best video I've seen so far where someone shows a proper reaction to pain (properly assessed) and how to treat it!

You can tell it hurts good for them by their reaction. They feel the pain and then relief.

I know you are obv not in the UK, but this is something I would like to learn to do, and treat, so that I can keep my own horses comfortable and pain free. I have a thoroughbred who often very tense and sore, as much as I try to help him otherwise. Have you any idea what kind of course I should be searching for to learn this skill?

Hi you could look for a Bowen therapy School near you or try EQUUS muscle management. I think they may run courses in the UK,. Good luck!! Christian
