Pretty light,but still has some weight so I do recommend putting sliders on the bike. Buy a used one they're pretty cheap. It has a sporty design but has a comfortable riding position as it's a sports touring bike. Power wise,it's still got enough to pull you out of the bike so I also recommend getting to know the bike before getting it to higher speeds. As always ride safe brother!

Honestly though that's actually not a horrible beginner bike and the reason I say that is it has a lot of new technology in it such as wheelie control, antilock brakes and traction control which those features are amazing to have when starting out but takes away all the fun of having a bike to push the capabilities now what I started on was not smart, my first bike was a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 1000 which was amazing and will demand respect if you don't give it ( had that for 2 years and it was incredible!! No close calls either) then sold her to get a newer GSXR which was a 07 750 which I bought cause it was cheap and clean, sold it a week later (didn't even ride it or put it on the road) then bought the arch nemesis to that Ducati and that was a 06 GSXR 1000 with tons of goodies (fastest bike ive ever been on) then sold that a year later to purchase my first 1999 gen 1 Suzuki Hayabusa unrestricted which I have now and is incredible! All 3 of those bikes don't have any safety fixtures no TCS, wheelie control, anti lock brakes no nothing its just all about the rider which i personally love. But sick bike man she looks gorgeous!

I started out on a 99’ CBR 600 F3. Buy a cheap bike and learn. Spend money on solid tired and a decent battery. Scratch it, drop it, sell it and buy your dream bike after you got some experience. Especially don’t start on a litre bike right away, I’ve seen too many people either not be able to tame it or ride & crash, or worse.

I started with a 600 and got bored of it after 2 weeks. That's just me. However, I will say that learning on a GS500 and going to a CBR600RR was a major scary jump at first.

I rode a CBR 600rr as my first bike and I’d say that 600s are a great place to start but only for some and I was not some. I lacked a true respect for the bike and almost died on it more then I can count on my hands. It wasn’t always my fault but still I wasn’t skilled enough at first to be able to just hope on and ride. My biggest weakness was speed cornering. I will say I lived in an area without an accessible track which I think would have helped a lot with practicing.

Ninja 650. Duh. Literally THE BEST beginner bike. No debate.
@zhongxina607423 күн бұрын
From my personal experience, don't buy those little begginer bikes, even if their used. If you drove a manual moped before, you are basically ready to go. So, buy your dream bike that has that much ccm that you want, but start riding slowly. You'l got experience and you will not spend that much money as you will when you buy for example this r3. But if your really that scary to drive bike that has a lot of horse power, buy ecu and limit it on specifically horse power you want, there will be definitely decrease of power and when you feal that you gain some experience, remove the aftermarket ecu or blockage, and put the fabric ecu and enjoy the ride!

250 or 300cc is whatcha want. Best way to practice and get a good feel for it, is take it to an empty parking lot, and practice braking as hard as you can, in straight lines, and while turning. Do lots of tight figure eights while going as slow as possible and learn balance, how to do tight turns, and how to feather the clutch. Practice stopping and starting, and how to avoid stalling. If you really wanted to, get some crash bars on it, or buy a cheap bike thats already got em. You can go out there and beat it up, drop it, or whatever, and for the most part itll be fine, and you wont cry yourself to sleep at night.

I think a lot of people are limiting the capability of the bike due to the lack of discipline of the rider. I think it’s less about how long you’ve been riding and more about how much self-control you have. About a Yamaha 900 as my first bike and was underwhelmed within six months and bought a Ducati V4 as my second and third bike…. With ride modes I could’ve just started with the Ducati.
@TheDucatiBaddie2 ай бұрын
@louismccall Yes! I ride a 959 Panigale and i love having the different power modes, it’s like having 3 bikes in one. It’s the best of all worlds, it really lets the rider grow with the bike as their skill level improves over time. #teamducati

Bought a new Z650 as my first bike. Within 2 months got hit by a car that ran a red light and fled the scene. Everyone asked, “so you gunna give up riding?” Nope! Too much fun. I always feared death (or how I was going to die) but now, I’m pretty sure I will have my hands wrapped around my handle bars when I do go. And weirdly that has provided me a sense of solace.

Not going to lie. I bought a Honda Navi for my first bike. Entirely for building confidence on two wheels in traffic situations, which I feel like should be gained first before learning shifting and whatnot. It's easily quick enough to keep up with city traffic. It's smaller which actually serves two purposes. Gets you used to making maneuvers with cars all around you faster. But it also makes you feel small among vehicles. Once you get past that feeling you have all the confidence in the world to handle a larger bike in traffic. Also, the Navi may not require shifting. But I would rather learn shifting while feeling completely and totally confident on the bike moving and handling. This rather than learning to shift while not being comfortable on two wheels yet.

Best beginner bike in my opinion would be a 250 or 450 supermoto/dual sport. You can gain a lot of core skills a lot quicker on a dirt bike platform in my opinion. It’ll translate well when you move on to say a super sport platform in the future. Plus the torque and lightweight ness of a dirt bike on its own is ALOT of fun. Also, they’re made to crash. You won’t cry when you drop it or ding it. Throw some new bars and plastics on it and it’s good to go.
