Your first comment is the reason I stopped watching Wrestling KZfaqrs. When AEW started I stopped watching WWE and most other wrestling because I didn't want to compare it anything. Outside of some stardom and NJPW. I really enjoy AEW every week. It's not a 10/10 every week, but it's never bad. And I always love the PPV because they always deliver.

The worst part of wrestling is the fans. Aside from a few KZfaq channels such as this I don’t follow wrestling outside the shows. I just don’t have the mindset to deal with the constant, knee jerk, overwrought, negative reactions from the IWC.

It sucks seeing how hot this company was in 2019, how they pivoted and kept things interesting during the pandemic era, the return of fans in 2021 and how good it was in 2022. Since 2023 it just hasn’t been the same.

Personally I feel like the IWC is the main reason... I watched last nights show and was excited about the PPV and as soon as I got online to hear the reviews it was shot down bcuz of the negativity... it kinda feels like they can't do anything right meanwhile WWE is boring as hell rn but no one is critiquing them nearly as hard... AEW is not even close to a bad show... we seen what a bad show is with WWE under Vince... but the IWC needs a heel to dislike and now Tony Khan is that person atm

Am still excited for double or nothing , i feel most of the matches have been built up well. Every match has had a build , and while May hasnt been as steong as the Tv run from January February this year, it was still entertaining for me. Moxley takeshita probably match of the night

It’s been alright but doesn’t feel like the silver anniversary to the company’s very first show. I’m always amazed how TK thinks him tweeting is all the advertisement the company needs to sell a PPV.

I think AEW is having a sort of rude awakening in the sense that many fans are very rapidly less lenient/charitable toward small and medium sized issues, which previously were ignored when the company was hot. For example, too many predictable matches. This has always been an issue, but now many people are suddenly all at once talking about it. Wrestletalk, wrestling observer etc. It probably makes it difficult to adress issues when people are revealing multiple long-term grievances all at once.

While I am not as excited for Double or Nothing as I am for most AEW PPVs, I am sure it will be a great show. It does seem like the majority of the ICW is overly critical of AEW. Although the company isn’t perfect, Dynamite and Collision are consistently entertaining and the PPVs have been some of the best in wrestling history. I’ve stopped listening to some of the podcasters because most of the negativity is unfounded. I think that many are envious of AEW’s success

I actually have liked a lot of the builds to this PPV. Are there ways they can improve it? Of course there is but AEW is a good show. Of course theres a few things I would like to see be different but I think most things are like that. WWE always makes mistakes and bigger mistakes too so I dont think thats what it is. Perception I think could be a part of it too. I think a lot of it is the negative part of the internet that could be making it not as enjoyable. I dont have an internet show do I dont have to read what other people write...lol. I used to engage in the shit talk but i stopped because its pointless. Theres a group of people who will never change their minds no matter how good AEW is. AEW is a really good wrestling show in all in my opinion. Dont get me wrong its not perfect, and theres a few things here and there I would change if I had my choice but theres nothing about the show thats terrible. WWE was literally unwatchable for like a decade...lol. Ratings are a tricky and weird thing espcially nowadays I dont think that should never be the end all be all. Comparing AEW to WWE is hard because WWE has been around for generations. There are people who have had kids and raised them to be WWE fans you know what I mean? To me what WWE is to Wrestling is equivalent to what Mc Donalds is in restaurants. It might be the most popular but it definitely isnt the best...lol. There was a lot to like, no it wasnt perfect. Like you said though I can almost guarantee the PPV will be a banger. Would love to see a fully healthy roster for a change too. Adam Cole and MJF returning???

Wrestling companies always have a time when the product is not that hot AEW needs something to give them a spark I think people are too negative about AEW though

Personally I think Dynamite is good week to week, and it's the only wrestling show I can rlly sit through (just my preference). I just feel like they're not going far enough with some of the storylines, i.e. The Corporate Bucks and Swerve's Title Reign. So for me personally, it's not that it's bad, it's just that it should be better

Great video as usual. Not a doom and gloom video, just addressing the problems AEW has right now where it comes to their presentation on TV. Plus my biggest gripe where it comes to AEW, Marketing. Like what are we doing here? No the company is not going out of business, TV money is their main source of income at the end of the day (just like with WWE) and still more likely they'll get a increase in their new TV Deal, specially with the NBA more likely leaving Warner Bros Discovery. But what are we doing here? Where's the proper marketing when AEW comes to town for Dynamite or Collision? Just tweeting it ain't S**T. This isn't gonna cut it anymore. What are these new hirings even doing????

I know you probably don’t want to hang out with us plebes on THREADS but the AEW/Puro/indie crowd is pretty strong. Not as gross in debating and people are encouraged to “Mute, Block, Hide”.

I only watch AEW, NJPW, and Stardom. We can add in Marigold. I have always enjoyed AEW. I will say I am not as invested as I have been. This is probably the lowest I have been in terms of excitement. That said, I still enjoy it. I do pay attention to other promotions so I have some idea of what is going on in other promotions, but I will stick with AEW.

I know The Elite are suppose to be Heels, but in a sick twist, I view them more as a babyface and the heels is the IWC, and honestly it’s fitting.

Absolutely agree with you about the whole negativity spread about AEW ruining part of the enjoyment. In my case I still highly enjoy the shows as they happen, but it's logging into IG or YT, getting thrown posts and videos nitpicking or straight up hating on it and it's just tiring AF (that assuming they don't go out of the way to also insult the fanbase, which many of them do). About AEW itself, it's kinda hit or miss for me right now: I've been enjoying the Elite vs AEW story, even though it's cooled off a bit the last week or two, Copeland vs Malakai has been very entertaining to watch and the women's division is amazing (even if the Stardom-like gray scale booking for the World Title picture is confusing to some fans), but on the other hand I also feel the world title doesn't feel as important as it should right now. I won't necessarily blame it on Swerve's booking as champ thus far, as Joe's reign kinda lacked of this as well, but I think he should be main eventing the shows or at least be the second most important angle after AITA, and right now I wouldn't even put it on the top 3 (that being for the aforementioned Elite vs AEW and both women's feuds). Meanwhile, the International title match will probably be the MOTN, but I don't think Will Ospreay should be given a midcard title considering how likely it's for him to go after (and win) the World Championship at Wembley, and the Undisputed Kingdom as a whole feels colder than the North Pole due to TK not being able to corrextly pivot in the short term from the Cole/MJF saga (which for me is his actual biggest weakness). Speaking of which, I don't doubt him as much as others do as a booker, but I'd also be in favor of him bringing someone else to help him in that regard: for example, sign Scott D'Amore and insert him into a booking committee with Danielson, the three EVPs and someone like Jerry Lynn in order to improve the week-to week booking; in other words, have TK still be the one to decide the storylines and similar stuff, but have the committee be the one to build everything between the starting point and the ending Tony wants.

Not gonna say I don't enjoy some outrage on YT from time to time, because I do, but I always appreciate an upload on this channel because I feel it is at least a more measured take as opposed to the more obvious takes I see. I agree it's not doom and gloom in AEW, but it's also not like the company's initial years, either. It lost something, and I won't pretend I know what to do.

Going to use an anime analogy. You have different arcs in anime. Take Dragonball for example. Sayian arc. Namek arc. Cell arc etc. Wrestling companies have arcs too. IMO, AEW was at its best in 2019-2021 because the top arc was the Hangman/Omega arc. There were other key players during that time, but the Hangman/Omega arc was the main story and everything focused around that. Everything was building to that. From 2022 and onwards, I haven't felt that same level of storytelling that they told with that Hangman/Omega story. Only thing close for me was the whole frenemy thing between MJF and Cole. Sadly, both are on the shelf now. Every arc eventually ends, and when it does you have to move on to the next one. They haven't found that next one that has hit or been as compelling. That's what is "missing" in current AEW imo.

Its ok to drop off and come back when it interests you more. I used to love spamming a bunch of ppvs in a row to get caught up.

I think the PPV will turn out good. However, this does not feel like a double or nothing style PPV. It feels like one of their B ppv’s. I think the Elite story needs a little more pop. And I just think Jericho in any angle these days is just bad unfortunately.

I would not have TK appear so early. Maybe on Collision, the stakes would be announced by winning the Anarchy in the Arena, you gained control of the shows, or wait on that stake for a future PPV. This is the first PPV where I have given time on whatever or not I should get this PPV or not. I just brought it, but I am worried going forward If Scott D'Amore is still around, TK could give him a call; him and having ideas from Rocky Romaro and Bryanson would be awesome and if TK want dream matches, that creative group would make it work and more importantly makes sense. Why is Khan not letting go of his grip on creative? If WWE haven't snatched him up,he needs to hire Scott D'Amore. It's not like people are asking him to sell the company. Just admit he's not good at booking weekly tv. Just my opinion

AEW is going through a rough patch creatively anfld professionally right now. Injuries have hurt the company greatly (WWE going through it too) thus really fucking over the product a but. The tribalism is killiing the biz in the long run and needs to stop. Sadly the IWC says differently. Me personally being a fan, I watch AEW because I still find positives about the show. The in ring work is as great as its ever been. The ladies division is showing promise. And some storylines are getting interesting. As for DoN, still watching for Cope/Black, Swerve/Christian, Anarchy, The Trios, and Roddy/Ospreay. Certified good/great matches on deck. I DO BELIEVE that this ppv will end up just like Dynasty as a over achieving ppv. Off topic: the joshi scene is hot right jow, the indies are really good right now and the other tv compaines MLW/NWA are trying to steer their ships to a more positive direction. So wrestling as a whole is in a more than decent place rn. Lastly, TK needs another booker. Atleast another one for ROH. Collision and Rampage did good together, Keep them together. As for ROH, do like what Sinclair did, have a spot for tapings and keep them completely separate. A hard brand split basically. And move Athena up to main.

Idk know what to say anymore 😂. I guess a lot of things play into it. I will start by saying that their production is more on par with TNA than WWE and maybe ppl are fine with that. I think they lack that Larger Than Life presentation. Also they keep trying to get the same cast of Characters over. Trent is not going to get any bigger than this and neither are the Bucks. I'm rooting for them though. In the meantime, WWE is getting it done for me. For the most part

I'm usually on the fence about the PPVs right up to the go-home show and they've always done something in that show to convince me to push the pay button. Not really this time. I like the addition of Darby to the Stadium match but I feel like the Bucks wining is inevitable. I also feel like Mone winning the belt is inevitable though it's not fair to Willow. The only thing i'm actually curious about/interested in is the HoB/Cope feud. Otherwise, i'm just really not engaged in this one, and it makes me sad because i love AEW and would like to be able to support it with enthusiasm.

IWC really kills the excitement, so I try to not interact with it as much as I used to. Maybe MJF coming back is going to bring some life and excitement into the TV product. It's just that the overall presentation hasn't been great as of late, the last Dynamite I genuinely thought was a boring show. Malakai Black vs Kyle O'Reilly the match that at one point would have been top tear main event on NXT Black and Gold, felt less exciting cause the crowd was too quiet for it, even though they tried to cheer on Kyle closer to the middle of the match. That's the problem I have at the moment, matches that on paper should excite me turn to be less exciting in execution. I certainly don't think it's all creative fault, there should be better marketing. And please Tony, come yo Europe. WWE right now is milking the market without any competition, firing on all cylinders with ridiculously high prices for PPV tickets. I think European crowds won't disappoint AEW, they just need to come here and advertise appropriately. It can make wonders for your presentation and perception on screen, if done correctly.

This Double or Nothing will be an Okay Show. Unless there is some shock that will blow our minds, its just going to be okay. Is that a Bad thing? Meh.....It could be worse. I'm honestly fine with this show just being Mid. Call me crazy, but I don't think every single PPV that a company produces must be "OH MY GOD THIS WAS THE GREATEST PPV OF ALL TIME LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED THIS IS AMAZING!!!" Do they need to be good, sure. Do they need to have interesting things happen, yes. But do they need to just be Haymakers. No, and I think that's something we kinda forget about.

I feel like AEW is held to this unattainable standard and no matter what TK does, people will complain because thats the season the IWC is in right now. For example, WWE has a PLE this weekend and i don't see nearly as much chatter or vids about KOTR. WWE has all these issues going on (Vince litigation, Saudi Blood money, etc.) but the IWC glosses over them while they go through AEW with a fine toothed comb. Honestly i think AEW is lightyears better than it was when it started. I started watching AEW in 2023 and i went back to see some of the early storylines. They looked like hot garbage. Theres nothing better about the in ring product or storytelling from 2019/2020 and no one can really explain the actual difference on why the product has gone down in their mind. Its probably because it hasn't and they just want to complain. Also none of us are TV executives so can we cut it with the ratings talk? WWE's ratings are way down from years ago but the product is far better.

The concept of Team Elite vs Team AEW is on paper really stupid because the second letter in AEW is literally Elite. Tony Khan really needs to stop overseeing the booking. There’s nothing they can do to reignite general interest. They signed Mercedes, Okada, and Ospreay and the company is still treading water. I think you’re being too generous to AEW. Don’t blame wrestling fans for criticizing the promotion. It starts at the top. For years we bashed WWE. Never once was the excuse “well, the IWC is bashing WWE so that’s playing a factor into my enjoyment.” That’s goofy. AEW has fallen off because they have no real leadership.
