Another busy weekend in pro-wrestling as WWE produced the Scotland edition of it's Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event while New Japan Pro-Wrestling added a new event, New Japan Soul, to its spring lineup this year.
Clash featured Cody Rhodes defending the WWE Universal Championship against AJ Styles in an I Quit match while Drew McIntyre looked to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in front of his countrymen as he took on Damien Priest without the Judgment Day. CM Punk would have something to say about that...
Over in the East, following the co-promotion show "All Together", NJPW followed up last weekend's Dominion show with New Japan Soul featuring the first ever steel cage match for the IWGP Junior Championship as Sho defended the title against Best of the Super Jrs winner El Desperado. David Finlay defended the IWGP Global Title against SANADA and Henare battled Shingo Takagi to settle their draw from last weekend in a brutal match for the NEVER Openweight Championship.
This is my review of WWE Clash at the Castle Scotland and New Japan Soul.

Sanada was white hot 4-5 years ago and they refused to pull the trigger with him. They waited too long, and by the time they gave him a chance the timing was no longer there.

your comments about Codys run is so on point to me. I had a strong feeling that The Rock would over shadow him. Once he gets back I think that will be the case. That is what most of the WWE sweats are waiting for. Its like their fans forget that behind the scenes they never actually wanted to give Cody that belt. Their fans kinda bullied them into it with death threats and shit. As far as Jade how long has she been in WWE now? I remember HHH basically saying she wasnt a great wrestler in AEW because of what AEW did as far as her development. Even though I know Cody had a part in her early training in AEW which HHH left out. Now that Jade has been there for awhile now I dont see a difference. I look at things through the same lens and you do when it comes to the WWE. You hit the nail on the head with them soooo often!...lol. Good work fam! cant wait for the next upload!

RR, will you ever start covering NOAH? The match between Kaito Kiyomiya & Gabe Kidd was amazing & and hard-hitting like no other. Ntm, it was announced that next month, Marufuji will be facing AJ Styles.

The I quit finish was too similar to the Adam Copeland Christian Cage one imo, especially due to how recent it was; (also the amazing breathing into the mic before refusals to quit were similar lol)

I really hope G1 delivers because I was down on the show and NJPW for a while now. You're not wrong about Finlay and sanada. Finlay needs Ospreay to be great and sanada needs okada to be interesting. Takeshita in the G1 is the most hype I felt for this company in a while. Can't wait, even though they'll beat that him like a drum like kiyomia last year. I skip Hot no matter what. But G1 season is my Christmas, oh and I'm going with Tj and Callum as well to advance. Callum better be out of this young lion get up if he is making it though. Anyways looking forward to it. My NJPW interests is slowly rising again. P.S get ready for that Evil final 👿😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈

clash at the castle was fun. This was WWE doing minor movement to their summer fueds. The I quit match was a nice opening match. I prefer the France match more but this was nice. Women tag was cool. I thought the match was sloppy after Jade “tapped out”. It was an improvement of the Saudi tag match. IC match was great. This video is late because he turned on RAW this week. Women match had a veteran finish. Keep Bayley winning. It’s weird Nia is getting 3 title shots in 2024. Drew losing because of Punk was obviously when the match was announced. They did a great job letting you know Punk refuses to let Drew win any belt if he continues to be in WWE. It’s better than last year’s ending with Drew singing after he lost. That was terrible. Good B show for WWE if you want to catch up with the company (and don’t watch the weekly show) 2- good to see the G1 stacked but New Japan is still getting the bad end of the stick with only 1 AEW star. Give more AEW wrestlers here. Bryan Danielson being there needs to happen to close his last full year as a AEW wrestler. 3- and blood sport bushido in Japan is this week. You should try to check it out. They have a great card and Ramage Jackson is going to fight there.

Looking at Finlay as a cowardly but hyper intelligent ‘two steps ahead’ type of leader is working for me SANADA can do no wrong in my eyes. I adore him

I don't see TJP making it just because it would be weird to have him in a G1 before Hiromu, who now wants to fight for the NEVER Openweight belt. I'm going Newman on A Block and Tanahashi on B Block just because B is lacking star power

Hoping Henare has a decent run with the title. Something I’ve noticed about Gedo’s booking (but it doesn’t apply 100% of the time) is that a wrestler will have a short run the first time they win a title. Really hoping what happened to Yota (holding the 6 man tag belt) doesn’t happen to him. That was a superfluous reign.
