I met Billy Bob Thornton in 2000, on the set of Bandits, along with Bruce Willis as well. Bruce was plenty polite and shook hands with many fans. Billy Bob, on the other hand, set the standard. He came out with stacks of autographs, pre-signed. He stayed and talked with all of us. He was married to Angelina Jolie at the time and put up with all the stupid questions. I realize that perhaps he comes off as a bit eccentric, but I've always felt like that's a bit of an act. He's practically Mr. Rogers when he's interacting with fans. Unforgettable.

At 54:26 Riz Ahmed makes a very valid point. I've heard people write off a show/movie saying it's "too political" when in fact the show/movie wasn't really political at all, just told a story from a different viewpoint than they were used to seeing.

People who take no responsibility for their uncomfortable feelings about a movie always blame the movie, as though they came to it without preconceived notions of what it ought to be. When people say a movie is boring I wish they would say I was bored with it. When they say it was offensive I wish they would say they were offended. It would make for a more.honest discussion.

grayforester exactly! Films that are cerebral, require paying attention, or take uncomfortable viewpoints are attacked as boring, confusing, too political or not escapist. When I hear those attacks I see those people as saying , they don’t have the attention span, or the desire to examine difficult topics. The problem is that’s the majority of any society. Simple mindless fluff will always garner more attention than thoughtful artistic brilliance. Queue the emotional responses

I love the THR Roundtable series. This one was particularly good with intelligent conversation among handsome men. The host, Lacey Rose, is great too. "Politics is a just a point of view on the world. And every story has a point of view on the world....What we think of as mainstream stories or stories that aren't political are very political in their absence of interrogating the status quo." - Riz Ahmed 👍🏽 Daammnnnn, that is so profound!!

I love that moment from 55:00 onwards, the deep understanding, moment of solidarity and meaningful glances, Riz, Sterling, and Jeffrey seem to have of each other's point, because at the end of the day as POC they understand exactly what the other is saying without even needing to finish their thoughts. Also notice the abrupt but obvious turn away from the issues them three were talking about by the host, you could see the expression on their faces because they knew why

I would say that she shouldn't have taken the conversation to another place when it was there it was rude and unthoughtful. But I think that especially Ewan and John were hearing carefully and respectfully and I liked that a lot (actually the three white guys, lol) they didn't try to intrude or to take the word away from the people that actually knew what they were talking about. Not really that I'm trying to praise them for doing the polite thing, but more privileged people really need to learn this.

Love Sterling. People vs OJ was great. Some of the best courtroom scenes I've seen. Superb performances. Just gave you a sense of the tension and the "feel" of what it must of been like at the time. Cleverly structured as well. Shout out to Sarah Paulson who is argumentatively the best actress on TV today.

Whoever suggested this is brilliant.
