Very much so? I've seen every single one of her movies. I used to comment on her IMDB message board and now I regularly comment on the Nicole Kidman fan board on proboards. To Die For is one of the greatest performances ever given. She was snubbed for an Oscar nomination. Even Sean Penn allegedly sent her a fax saying that it was a terrible snub. It's not the first time she's missed out for great work, The Paperboy, Stoker etc. The Hours, The Others and Rabbit Hole are great mainstream work, but I love when she gets daring and takes roles that no other actress in her position would with Dogville etc. You say that like Nicole Kidman was some unknown before Big Little Lies.

Sam Sam Well Jessica is even a bigger name than Nicole, she a two time academy award winner who has given masterful performances in almost every film shes done. If you want to compare their acting to see for yourself then go ahead ;-) her performance in Frances is the top 15 best performances ever list.

I agree,I adore Lange.Im sure she didn’t mean it this way, but in talking so wonderfully about Crawford,she mentioned that she had “ entered into a sexual relationship with her stepfather”. No child “ enters” into an abusive relationship of her own volition,it’s obvious , just have to point that out,I’m sure she didn’t mean it that way,again. I love how Oprah asks if she thinks about raising consciousness while she creates a character.Shes an actor,one of the very best I’ve seen.Simplicity is the most powerful way to go.

@Stangen99
@Stangen99 6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Mark There is a reason why Glenn has never won a oscar, Jessica has won two. Glenn close can not play crazy the same way Jessica can, and if you watch blue sky, frances and sweet dreams (witch are her strongest performances in films) there is absoulutly no one who could have done those better. Even Meryl Streep lost roles to Jessica and she stated later that no other could have done it better. And did you say Sigourney Weaver? That must be a dumbass joke. You clearly dont know a thing about acting.

This was a great round table and all but like Amy Adams said when she was here, why ask these questions about sexism and ageism within the industry to the actresses? Why not ask the producers, directors, and TV creators these questions? Their answers would be way more informative
@HelloHello-tm7uc

YES! I am looking forward towards the other roundtables and see if they took Adams's advice. If they didn't then, why the fuck ask the actresses these questions if they're not going to be allies.
@RyanHall42
@RyanHall42 6 жыл бұрын
Only asking questions to the already receptive audience would be a pretty phony thing to do, and Hollywood isnt known for that at all. That'd be like only asking racism questions to black actors and not the producers and directors actually complicit in the process because you don't want to scare away the talent. Virtue signaling and so on.

It’s called PTSD. The body remembers and the mind, even though it knows it’s not real, cannot understand. One of the the best examples of this IMO is an Iraqi vet back home, driving along the highway and not being able to drive without stopping at every underpass thinking there’s a bomb or stopping at every bit of litter on the side of the road thinking it’s an IED. He knows there’s no bomb but for the life of him, he cannot drive without stopping. PTSD. The body remembers what the mind tries to forget.

I'm so OVER these leading questions about misogyny. Let them talk about their work and ask the men these questions for once.
@th2k864
@th2k864 6 жыл бұрын
If you think about it the question gives the actresses a chance to express their feelings about that subject. You just watched the round table where they talked at some length about what unexpressed emotions can do to someone, pent up rage, pent up sorrow etc. So the interviewer asks about misogyny, the women get to express themselves if they choose. As a woman you should know that your sex is not often asked about how you feel about things that men control. The female voice is mostly mute so why begrudge them the opportunity to release some pent up emotion about a fucked up circumstance? Cause it is a fucked up circumstance. You see that right?

Kim Valentine I tended to agree with you until I thought about all the women who voted for Trump and who enable the misogyny of men or exhibit it themselves. Women are part of the problem, and men are part of the answer. It's not the gender that creates the problem, it's the sensibility.
