Now that you have learned how to takeoff in the Thranda DHC-2 Beaver, it's time to land! We'll go over wheel landings and 3-point landings at a remote dirt strip in the mountains of Idaho.
The Beaver is the latest in our Dynamic Generation series of aircraft, and is available on the X-Plane.Org store:
store.x-plane.org/DHC-2-Beave...
Check out our other planes: the Quest Kodiak and Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter, both of which are also available at X-Plane.org:

Also new to XP11 (1 week!) and really wanted this aircraft. Just got it less than and hour ago, so any and all info is very much appreciated! Such a great aircraft - but I really need to get proper rudder pedals and practice ground handling! Thanks for the vid!

Great video! Would love to see something similar for the float version, I'm having some trouble making good landings with the floats.

Yes! I still plan on making a tutorial video for taxi, takeoffs, and landings with the floats. I'll get around to it some time..

Hello, you should show us how you deal with the throttle. That will help us a lot. Further if we could see clear the instruments especially speed and pitch... Thanks

Throttle is generally around 16 inches MP during final, but I'm making corrections to control my descent angle. For example if it looks like I'm going to land short, I'll add a few inches of manifold pressure. And the opposite if I'm going long. And use small pitch corrections to maintain the correct approach speed. For the speed, it's 80 mph on final for a normal landing. As you come over the runway and start the round-out, smoothly pull the power toward idle. It helps to keep a little power in, but at this point my eyes are focusing outside at the far end of the runway, and not on the gauges. For a short field landing it's 65-68 mph. Make sure the plane is stable and trimmed during final approach. That way the speed will (mostly) take care of itself. And don't forget to keep dancing on those rudder pedals to keep the nose straight during the touchdown and rollout! A landing isn't finished until you come to a complete stop. :)

Hello Joe i own the PC6 and recently also the fantastic Beaver. I love being in the air with these planes. Can you please give me some information about the scenery you flew to for your tutorial.

Certainly! The scenery is a freeware package for Fish Lake, Idaho, USA. ICAO code S92, by Wookie1. Here's a link to the download: forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/62572-fish-lake-usfs-s92-idaho/

Joe any advice on ground control after landing? Beaver and Porter get squirrelly on me?

Great tutorial Sir. The only problem I face while landing is that even with a smooth touchdown, the plane spins out of control everytime. Is there a tail wheel latch...like we had with the DC3 that prevents it from spinning. Have you encountered this issue with landings in the thranda dhc2. Thank you.

At times, this aircraft is quite squirrely after touchdown. I've had difficulty even at proper approach speeds. Unpredictable, even in calm winds. For no apparent reason, one wing will come down and it's ground loop city. Not sure my rudder pedals will handle this kind of abuse for very long! Otherwise, this Beaver is a great flyer - in the air that is.
