I'm thinking of getting this as I've seen that the latest rendition is X-plane 12 compatible. Another brilliant Thranda aircraft. But the Pilatus has to be the ugliest airplane ever built 🙄

Most Caravans I have flown do not feed exactly evenly between the two tanks, even if you are flying coordinated. When you get to know the individual aircraft, you can slightly close the fuel selector for the tank that is draining faster to find the sweet spot where both tanks are feeding at the same rate. Are intermediate settings of the fuel selector possible on your model?

Oooh, good question! No, X-Plane simulates the fuel selectors as on/off, so intermediate positions aren't really possible. But I know exactly what you mean; of the real Caravans I fly, each is slightly different. One of them really likes feeding from the left tank, so we typically will fly on the right tank to build up an imbalance of ~50-100 lbs, then switch to the left for the rest of the flight. That seems to work out pretty well on our short flights.

@@josephnoe2956 yeah, I've done it that way as well, but I find it annoying. I have spent a lot of time in the 208 low altitude VFR in mountainous terrain, and I really like to be feeding from both tanks in that scenario!

Just wondering, can an FO use these videos to prep for a C208 interview? If not, any suggestions that can help, aside from the aircraft manuals.

For sure, yeah! A couple of the FOs at the airline I fly for have used these to help study. Just be aware that there will be some procedural differences in how each airline does things. And there are a couple things that are specific to this X-Plane simulation of the Caravan that differ slightly from the real Caravan (for example, in the electrical system video the external power switch is only simulated with two positions, but in the real Caravan there are three). Just make sure to use these videos as a general guide, and follow your specific airline's procedures and details.

Can you make a video of how to operate the camera? So that I can make a pre-flight check around the aircraft and also have these images inside the cockpit as you show them! I just ordered X-plane 12!

Hi, I‘ve got the problem that the Engine does not shutdown after cutoff the fuel at the thrustlevers according to the checklist. XP 11 on Mac… got a Idea? Thx for the Great Tutorials!

great tutorial! Slowly making the switch to x-plane. One piece of advice, you'd want to dock on the upwind side. The airplane is a weather vane on the water, docking on the downwind side means the wind will push the tail away from the dock, and therefore the prop will go into the dock. Upwind side docking is like having an invisible dockhand :).

This whole aircraft, is mind blowing. I've been simming since 1985 (DI Tornado, DI Tomahawk etc) Something like this in MSFS would set the internet on fire. The Commanche release (although good), has some good features, which have been seen in XP for a long time, and the MSFS fan base goes nuts. I only just purchased this aircraft recently (only just came across it), and love flying it out of Elstree (Orbx) to all sorts of small airfields around the UK. The tutorials by NoJo are amazing too, great work!

I'm still an XP11 flier, (MSFS in numb, XP12 is not optimised enough) and I am (was) trying to decide between this and the AFL King Air 350. But by 3:25 you have already sold this too me. I fly my own VA, small airfields in the UK, taking PAX and Cargo around. I will base this out of Elstree. Really great videos, extremely detailed and very well presented.

There should be a small arrow on the left side of the screen. Click on this and it will bring up the menu, click on the General tab, top left, and then you will see a small button marked "checklist" in the lower right corner. Click on that and the checklist will pop up. Safe flying in probably the best turbo prop aircraft in X-plane.

Wow, that is very accurate modelling of the C208 electrical system. just one thing, the External Power has 3 settings, OFF, Start, BUS. On BUS the GPU is running the electrical system, but to start, you have to place the switch in the START position, then you start the engine as per normal, power is going straight from the GPU to the starter. Not sure if that can be modelled in the sim software.

Had the most bizarre experience just now watching this. As you brought the throttle up for takeoff it sounded almost like an echo/delay effect had kicked in. Looked outside and it was just N8397Q turning over the ship canal after taking off from Lake Union. I’d say the team got the audio about perfect on this one!

I have all the Thranda products except this one. The beaver has the best water physics, but none of them are horrible. They have a docking hold feature and a slew mode.

Yep! Just hover your mouse cursor over it and scroll the mouse wheel down to make it transparent.

I'd love to see Thranda with your great modelling of rough and tough aircraft like the DHC 2 make a x plane model of the Saab Safir 91B - 2. I think your style of programming and developing would capture the plane very nicely
