Mr Cut Folks Dude you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about! Jake was a pretty decent skater! Obviously he wasn’t a pro. But for you to say that he could barely ride a board means you need to pull your head out of your ass and stop telling people that it smells like roses up there! He was better than that!! He was a real fucking skater. He skated for himself. Jake Just happen to exploit the opportunity to skate with the best and figured out a way to get paid for it. The ultimate dream job. And then write about in the most epic way for those individual skaters & their absolutely unequivocally insane talents. Let’s see you bomb a freaky steep hill at 56 years old! Jake did more for skateboarding with a pen 🖊 Then you’ll ever do for the world of skateboard in your whole entire lifetime!! I had the privilege to skate in the same park with him once burnside skate park Portland Oregon. I thought he was more a vert skater then a street skater! But nevertheless Jake could fucking skate. & skate or die Jake Did!!

Say what you want about Phelps. He's held down skateboarding for decades. Love him or hate him, if you truly love skateboarding and the skateboarding community, you have to give him props. He's the realest dude out there. He is genuine and caring towards the people who deserve it.

Fausto Vitello and Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson started thrasher to promote there products such as independent trucks, the name came form Duane peters. Its now a family business since fausto passed away. Phelps was just a skater almanac so they put him in the family.

honestly man, if the dude doesn't even skate much anymore he can still be badass as fuck and be 100% skateboarder. he feels the love for it, he expresses his love through a badass magazine that we all love, and he has been tight with some of the biggest skateboard legends ever. he might be a douchebag sometimes, but the dude has experienced life to the fullest and has seen some of the greatest moments in skateboard history, i would love to be in the position he's in.

I Have to watch this again! Phelps, was an amazing individual! Anybody that's ever had an influentia,l or positive force, in the form of a friend or family member can relate! Phelps touched people that he never even knew!! That's what Jake did!!! He saw, the fire under people's feet. An dumped gasoline on it!! We all could use a phelper, in our lives. It's sad, cuz I don't know when we're going to find another Jake Phelps!!! Anywhere!!! There are not many people, that I would ever say anything nice about! I'm not even breaking precedent now!! I'm just stating an obvious fact!! I'm not a very nice person. Jake, was amazing and thorough individual! I always felt that. Even though I never met him!! I respected him, and I feel that I am better off, for knowing of his existence!! Thank you, Jake Phelps!!! An of course, thank you skateboarding, for embracing me, an introducing me to happiness and joy! Beyond, my wildest dreams!

I used to have a problem with this guy. After his death I suddenly realized that there's actually no one else like like him. His role in skateboarding has been massive and his absence will leave a huge hole in our culture. This truly is the end of an era and I fear for what comes next for skateboarding without Phelps running shit. There's no one who can fill his shoes. R.I.P Phelps. True Thrasher.

Met this guy at the SF airport. Very down to Earth. He told me, "If you fall, get up. Don't be that bitch that stops." I dislocated my shoulder at a park and ever since I stopped. Then I remembered he told me to get back up, so here I am waiting to hit that park up again. Park at Pacifica, CA
