THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI is a darkly comedic drama from Academy Award® winner Martin McDonagh (IN BRUGES). After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes (Academy Award® winner Frances McDormand) makes a bold move, commissioning three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Academy Award® nominee Woody Harrelson), the town's revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated.

Thx for agreeing! Sure, a lot of it is due to Frances McDormand but Robert Lee is right about the great editing and comic directing. The Coen brothers know how to make a movie darkly funny and then very sad. Martin McDonagh was great with this idea throughout Three Billboards. I also love his movie In Bruges. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a British crime black-comedy drama that I think y’all should check out

When I first saw this movie, I never wanted to ever see it again. All I saw were broken people hurting others, and living in unhappy uncertainty. Recently I was thinking about it, and so I gave it another shot . Now it's probably one of my favourite movies ever. There so much kindness and humanity to each and every one of this morally grey cast. Some are never excused for what they’ve done at their worst, other times they’re nothing but excused. The absolute cruelty of what they're excused for is often brushed off in favour of all the kindness they've offered others. Other times, moments of pure kindness go completely unseen under the shadow of the harm they've caused elsewhere. It's a great meditation on justice both personally and socially, and its done so in a way that really refuses to leave your thoughts for a long time after. A masterpiece.

In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths are such great films, the dialogue, the bizarre story and the dark humor are my jam. So I'm gonna watch the shit out of this movie, Martin McDonagh is the man.

Fantastic story telling brought to life by unapologetic & complex characters dealing with a flawed small town police dept. as the consequences of an unsolved horrific crime start to implode in their insular small town community. Frances McDormand most definitely earned & deserved this Academy Award for Best Actress!!!

Just came out of this movie 2 hours ago and I’m still trying to process what I just seen, it’s only January and it’s probably the best movie I’ve seen all year. Cannot praise Sam Rockwell and Frances McDormand enough 🙌🏻 there were scenes were the audience erupted with laughter, then there were scenes when you could here a pin drop and and I’m pretty sure you could here a few people shed a tear or two, well done Martin McDonagh you’ve outdone yourself 🙌🏻

It wasn't for me. I found it watchable, but only just. By and large, the cast were great (with the exception of McDormand). The storyline, however, was the stupidest thing I've witnessed in cinema. It was lazy writing. Each to their own. Really enjoyed the Shape of Water. The actress in that did a far better job. I'd give Three Billboards a 3 or 4 out of 10. Overrated tat, but just about worth a watch.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was very moving in crucial moments, a bit depressing in other ones and, on the whole, was a thought-provoking film because of the fact that it is a pretty realistic description of what trauma does to people and what it's like to live with it.

IS GREAT, it is Funny, Hysterical, Sad, Brutal, and everything in between. The cast is excellent, Francis is deserving of an Oscar nomination really. I ended up crying too at the end. so powerful in parts that it moves you to tears or fear too.

I thought the shape of water was better, I hated the ending to this movie so much, you get these twists, the character changes, the emotional scenes, curiosity of who the killer is, and as things get really really good it just ends, I'm just happy this didn't win tbh, I haven't seen the other movies that were nominated from that year but the shape of water was good, like a weird kind of good.

Just saw it. One of the greatest of all time. So many genius actors. Woody Harrelson is a miracle. Frances McDormand kills it. Sam Rockwell has a difficult role and never falters. This is a very emotional, complex, intimate, unique film that engages you completely from the start. In a sense, it's a whodunnit and a thriller, but also a movie about family love and dysfunction, and surprising friendships and alliances that arise during times of crisis. Wow across the board. You'll love it! Oscar sweep!
