It's amazing how you can return to a song you haven't heard in quite some time and notice it sounds even better than before.

When I was 7/8 years old I heard my brother listening to music but my parents said I was too young for it. I remember waking up early on a Saturday morning to sneak into our living room and watch MTV before anyone realized and could stop me, getting to the channel just as this song started. I didn't even have time to sit down, I just stood there awestruck until the song ended then waited all morning hoping they would play it again. 20 years later and it's still giving me chills.

Funny thing is I kept remembering this song from madden 04 but only seemed to remember the refrain in the last chorus, so I kept searching for “we are the dead” Took years, but i’m here. I feel like i’m home.

I've been a casual fan of Thrice since the mid-2000s but I keep coming back to them. I get to see them live for the first time ever in September so my over-the-hill ass is super stoked though I don't know how much of their early stuff they'll play. Their new stuff is super rad, though, so I'd alright hearing nothing but that as well. Such a good band, though; I love how much they've evolved over the years.

Saw Thrice live in Orlando and Tampa, hands down one of the most amazing bands to see live in my life behind Tool which if you have been to a Tool concert is saying a hell of a lot. They know how to get the crowd into each and every song. Teppei is a God on the lead his solos are masterful.

I was first introduced to this band with the song Black Honey, hard to believe it's the same group and singer especially.

I remember buying this album back when I was a Freshman in college. I was 18 or 19 in those days, and these guys weren't that much older than me--maybe 4 or 5 tops (except for the drummer, who was definitely someone's older brother, because he's another 4 or 5 years older than the rest of the guys. It's definitely making feel a bit of nostalgia looking at the way those guys looked in the video, because I was exactly the type of guy who would've fit in with those guys. Since then I've put on a few lbs and I grew out both my beard and my hair, so now I look more at home at a Ren-Fest than Ozzfest. I just had my 20 year High School reunion, but what sucks is that I won't ever get to find out what happened to the folks I met that first year of college, when I was living in the dorms. I kept up with a few of them, as Facebook became a thing, but the folks who weren't on it when it was the cool new thing to sign up for, almost none of them got onto it later, and if they did I never came across them on there. It's a bummer, because my roommate Paul was the shit, and we did all kinds of stupid shit back in the day, but he was a weirdo about being a luddite and not spending time online interacting with people, and he changed up his phone number so many times, that I lost touch with him like 5 seconds after he transferred our Junior year.

Aaah the good ol’ times when this was fresh and new, and thrice was thrown in the emo kids pot. Nostalgia. Unlike many of the bands of those years, thrice are like wine, got better through time. I still love the early stuff but their career was an artistic escalator, you can’t compare this catchy pop-punk song with the deep poignancy of the latter albums.

Suddenly realised this morning that this song is totally about Nineteen Eighty-Four

Once I got to this song, I got a visitor to my booth. A man dressed up as Senator from Metal Gear Rising asked me to sing a song that I can’t remember the name of (sounded like something by A Perfect Circle but it was from a video game) Like holding my avatar at gunpoint and forced me to sing a part of the song and he walked away to listen to the rest of the album to judge if he liked it or not. He didn’t. Atleast people were still able to come to my booth because he threatened to tell people not to come to my booth if I didn’t sing it for him
