Yes Zeb... we can have ALL FOUR SEASONS in one day in Central New York State... My husband can plow the driveway in the morning and mow the lawn tomorrow! 😁 Jami...thank you for mentioning the WAX over TOP COAT ! That explains an issue I had with oak wood! The bleed through when I did top coat! Thanks! Those little IMPORTANT pieces of knowledge you have....👍👍 I used my IOD Stamps today and could not find my Brayer... thought for sure our 2 and 3 year grandkids got it! I had placed it high so they wouldn’t.... I losing my mind! LOL!!! Oh my goodness...what FUN they are !!! ( both Stamps and grandkids... 🤣🤣🤣)

That is the perfect spot for the pew. After Christmas just center ot under the window. Place couch opposite or facing the FP. Anchor with a rug. Perfect 👌

We get sun and snow in Colorado, we also get snow thunder, thunder and lightening with a snow storm.. house looks wonderful.. its all really starting to come together..

We had a beautiful sunny morning here in Western Washington and it was drizzling lightly at the same time. While I lived in Utah, I experienced many days that we sunny and snowing. I do love Utah winters, just not so much those who don't know how to drive in it. LOL!

Well, obviously not where I currently live (Phoenix AZ) but I can remember being blinded by the sun on the snow when I lived in Idaho & Northern AZ (Pinetop-Lakeside) as a teen. 🌞❄😎

Looks great you guys, love the church pew! Wow, I see you have some snow! I'm watching this video at 4 p.m. on Monday November 10 in Southern Ontario and it is 21 Celsius, (that's almost 70 F)! I have never in my life recalled a November day as warm as it is here today! You two are so awesome, the finish line is not too far away! Take care, Sandy 😊

We get sunshine, rain sometimes snow and wind. Love that the sun usually comes out even on cloudy days in WA state. Some people who are used to heat complain but it’s amazing how much the sun comes out.

@@JamiRayVintage ohhhh is that the same one you showed a while ago? I adore church pews. As you know, I’m not religious but my grandparents were the presidents of their little country Presbyterian church. This little church was out in the middle of nowhere in their little bush community. Bush is just a word for out of town, out in the country. I would go to church with them as a kid and we would have Sunday school before the church service. All the adults would have a morning tea under the old pine trees and we would have a little morning tea in our Sunday school class. There were probably only about 7-8 kids but we had a lot of fun. The little church was sold off and funnily enough, a girlfriend of mine from high school’s sister owns and lives in it now.

Every day I drive by waiting to see what's gonna happen with the pew! I literally got the exact same one out of our friend's dumpster!!! But, I am self-imposed "grounded" from starting any new projects until after finishing the ones already on my "Protects Palooza" list!

The outside except a little touch up is done. And the heater works in the addition. So we’re nice and toasty here.

yes:) And, it can be coaxed to a more "chestnut" color if a person wants to has a more "restored" vision rather than painted. I've have a church pew in my home for the last 30+ years and wouldn't think of painting it. I save painting for things that have always been painted, like the poplar 7'x6' kitchen cabinet I'm working on now. I recently renewed the finish on my pew and love it now more than ever. My parents just gave me the oak table they had when they were first married (65 years ago today) and, again, no way would I paint it :) I can guess that I'm showing my aged decor ideas in this comment but I do mean it in good spirit.

Yes. A few times this year. Once around my birthday in September once in October and now I’m November. It always flip flops for a while. Next week we have a few days in the 50’s and I am excited.

When I was growing up my grandmother use to say when it was sunshining and raining/snowing "the devil was beating his wife." I've never heard it anywhere else so I'm not sure where she got the idea.

Yep. We get sunshine and snow. Not a lot tho. Being it only snows 3 or 4 times a year. Most years or big snow is when it covers the ground until noon..lol But about every 10 years we get a blizzard.. Like 6 inches or so.. The whole county shuts down and school gets out for a week.. lol.. but I know about snow.. I lived in northeast PA for 2 winters.. I did not like the snow..So I moved back home.. southwest tn.. lol

Jami, I love watching you paint because I feel like I can tell how you paint - technique, I mean. Your paint looked to be between milkshake consistency and melted milkshake consistency. Your brush looked to be fully loaded so that you could paint several long strokes on the seat of the bench. And, it looked like you glided the brush over the seat with little to no pressure. Did I get that right? I could almost feel that with little to no drag from your brush. Your brush was fully loaded but if you held it over the bench there would have been no “drippage.” (I’ve heard you use that term lol) Is that right? I can almost feel it because that’s what I love about painting. It’s almost soothing. Thanks!! Leslie

Yes ma’am! With milk paint it’s a delicate balance. It’s not as thick as diy. So sometimes I get drips. I just catch them before they dry.

What do you use to buff it with after it dries. I have an antique dresser that looks like the yellowed bench and I just need that info so I can quit being scared to tackle the project...lol. Thanks in advance for your reply!

I use my buff brush. It’s made by paint pixie. We sell it on our website. It’s an investment but worth it. If I didn’t have that I would just use a lint free rag.

What are you using for trim? We used 1 x 4 rough cedar

We’re using MDF baseboards. I think they are like 8” inches. They are tall and chunky. I may have to wait to put them in the whole house because that size is spendy. But it’s really close to the original trim we found in the house when we bought it.

Does the wax come off with heat? Example, when you sit somewhere for a while, the area heats. So will the wax heat and come off on clothing?

Once it’s cured no. But if you have it outside I’m direct sunlight on a 100 degree day it’s gonna melt.
