Hi guys, and welcome back to yasminecollects! Today is another thrift with me video. So far we have done several thrift for retro tech themed videos including VCRs, DVDs and more. I promise I didn't know ahead of time that I'd find this all in one PC! We also take a look at other electronics for sale, cassette tapes, VHS, cds, DVDs etc. You never know what you'll find the the thrift store, and I know some of you don't have access to them so I hope this is fun to see what I find!

I wish our charity shops (thrift) still stocked VHS tapes. I actively collect and watch them, but nowhere sells them anymore. Any places that DO sell them, they charge stupid amounts of money for them.

Got that same GE cassette alarm clock, only paid $5 , the fast forward belt melted and found a bad cap replaced both belts and the bad cap and all the other big caps and now it works amazingly

Early 2000's Sony Vaios were THE coolest computers of the era.

the "Colorstream" on that Toshiba DVD player just means component video. they have the same naming convention on their TVs of the era. no idea why they didn't just call it "component" lol

Looking forward to seeing how that XP computer works out. A few years ago, I picked up an old HP Pavilion with XP from around 2003 that is mint. It came with OG install and back up discs, and an official Microsoft copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. + Official Microsoft Office 2003. I found it on eBay for a total of $60 including shipping. I love it. It's exactly the same as the first Windows PC I ever owned. Bring back tons of good memories lol

WOW what a find!! The experience using an old pc is completely different from what we experience now. It’s a lot less “busy” on an older unit. Video coming super soon on the desktop 💕

You guys over there have some really cool shops! Here in the UK you can't really find many places like this, especially places that sell VHS tapes. I get so annoyed that hardly any places sell VHS tapes anymore.

I will say, it's sad how much sh*t is floating around in the us. we just consume SO MUCH. so i'm always happy and like uh oh this is bad that all this crap needs a home lol. Wish people wouldn't upsell vhs so much but yanno "its old so that means expensive"

@YasmineCollects that's exactly it. And don't get me started with the whole "black diamond" Disney stuff. It's not worth any more than any other tape. But, I see videos like yours and I get so jealous. I see people go to thrift stores and get all this awesome VHS tapes for next to nothing. It isn't fair! 😭

I thought the UK was vastly more into retro-tech. I visited London in mid-2022 and the whole city is still lined with dozens of one-hour film developing labs. On the other hand, here in Southern California, there's only one that I know of.

that sony vaio is kind of rare i think? i saw a suuper cool video on one a while back from ActionRetro called "Son'y VAIO, They Got Real Weird"!! turns out that this model (or a similar one) had a built in analog TV tuner and had a suuper cool copy of Windows XP on it, so worth a watch!

I'm just imagining if a UK equivalent to Computer Era was found. Yasmine: Hello, I found that aplace called Nomis Sywtemw in Prood Hoe was selling off a lot of retro electronics and I just had to go to the UK and had to go to Prude Hoe (fprgive the typos. I'm typing this while my cat kiterally twerks in my face) I'm not normally into retro computing, but I just HAD to get this Acorn A3000 purely because I've never seen this computer before! And I found this Video 2000 VCR. Video 2000 was a Europe only compoetitior to VHS and Beta, And because Video 2000 was Europe only and only worked on PAL, there was never an NTSC version, I also got this Ferguson CRT.

YOOOOOOO those vaios are so freaking cool!!! i only just learned about em a few months back from the video ActionRetro did on it. super cool, i cant wait to see more of it from you. Edit: just heard that you perform drag, holy fuck you are the coolest person ever!!!

Hi windows ME (millenium edition) is based on 98 and gets a lot of crap from people lol I remember running it on some systems before xp
