It's not centripetal. It's centrifugal that makes things go outwards.

I just found you, too! I having been throwing for about 10 months - sometimes it works; many times, it doesn't. Love your tips. Can you share what kind of clay you use? I was working with some clay from a pottery peer and it was SO dense that my hands hurt from trying to center it. Thank you!

Thanks so munh for spreading the word and I'm sorry for the delayed response! Opening a new studio and it been nuts! I use standard clays - 112, 182 and 710!
