Holy cow, this was a big one... I've never hauled so much scrap metal in one go before! Little bit of trash picking, some pickups from friends, and bam! Really getting to see what these new side rails can accomplish. I'm gonna need better tires!
Here are the wire cutters I like!: amzn.to/3adv7kz
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2wjkMFd
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

I used to scrap copper as construction laborer. Years later as a hobby I would look for wild plants , some of which are considered weeds. Not the similarity of finding value in things others don't. One of those things is wild grape which if collected in quantity make great jams, jelly or wine. Just last year some renter did not like me picking his landlords weedy grapes. Its on a commercial property so not really a privacy thing. Just the way some people are.

My wife and I have experienced a couple of situations, similar to your encounter with the angry Jerk in this video. We were dumpster picking at a church few blocks from our home. A stranger pulled up in a car and started "you are trespassing on private property. I said " this is a public church parking lot, and this is the Lords property, and dumpster diving is legal in our state. My response made him furious, so he returned at me- " Get Off My Property!". This guy never announced himself as pastor, security officer, or anything. Random stranger, treating my wife and I, like we were criminals. My wife coaxed me in the car in effort to avoid further confrontation, and to save my butt from jail for what I was about to unleash on Mr. BIG MOUTH. LOL. Needless to say it was a learning experience, and you are gonna deal with folks like these from time to time, if you are a scrapper. Yeah, later you start reflecting when in the shower, or time to reflect, and think of things you wish you had said. Thub, hit them with your intelligence, and finish them with kindness, is the best approach. Then they know their angry attitude or obnoxious demeanor had no effect on ruining your day. Best wishes from Kentucky my friend.

Great wire stripper…an idea for you if needing to strip heavy cables,the ones on overhead powerlines( don’t get any ideas of taking live cables from the street). Screw a portable circular saw to a piece of plywood, lower the blade through,.then invert and clamp plywood to bench. Screw a fwe guides either side of protruding blade at width of cable, then screw a small pieces a t 90 * to height of cable …then turn on and hold switch down with duct tape…put on glasses and feed the cable through…bingo adstvheightvwhen needed

@thubprint
@thubprint 3 жыл бұрын
Wait, really?? I hope they aren’t annoyed that I’m bringing so many! They’re pretty large cans though, is the issue because the cans could be half full of paint, or is it more because of the chemical content of any amount of paint?
@lornekerzner5718
@lornekerzner5718 3 жыл бұрын
@@thubprint if they're completely empty its a non issue, but we all know that people will say "empty" but not be quite as honest as you or I. The issue is that it gets all over the steel once its shredded, and discolours portions of the finished product which looks bad. It's the same as AC's, 8/10 people know its drained of freon and claim it is, but every so often youll have 1 or 2 ppl cut a line at the yard which can result in a huge fine for the yard and the customer if caught. So it's simply easier to just say "no" instead of "yeah as long as its drained, or yeah as long as the can is empty"

That wire stripper is the exact same as the one I just got a week ago. I had a massive score of wire and I needed something to strip it with. Once your dialed in you'll zip through the wire in no time. I've more than paid for the stripper with the amount of wire that I stripped with it. You're going to love it. Just a tip, try and make the wire as straight as possible before running it through, less chance of it slipping out from beneath the blade.

Hey Thub- I have a similar wire stripper and similar lack of space lol. I stick my stripmeister in my vise. You can do that or if it doesn't fit, mount it to a small block of wood connected to a piece of 2x4 or something and stick that in there. It's super sturdy and takes seconds to set up and take down. And yes, sort the wire before hand so you have to adjust it as little as possible!

I know, they are super easy to sell. The tight horn handles were part of what made it unappealing to me though and new tires and tubes would probably cost me $100. Add the time and labor on top and the profit just isn’t there for me on the low end, which is where I like to price my flips for fast turnover.

I loved the last few comments about how you appreciated being called on shit sometimes. You really are a much loveable person. Its easy to become attached to your character and special nature. you are definately a survivor. i think you should step it up somehow and become more commmercial. buy product and process it maybe. You are cheaky, pushy and a little sneaky sometimes. Sometimes i think you incroach on peoples privacy and space sometimes regardless of how legal it might be. But all and all in my opinion your awesome and harmless and i think all this is going to lead to something good for you. Cheers from your friend in New Zealand

Congrats on the big cash-in. Don't forget to protect the wood rails. Applying a wood stain is easy and fast. That guy was an idiot taking that bag of bottles from you. Some people just don't have anything better to do I guess. The wire stripper is very cool. Bolting it down on a square piece of wood (say 2 foot by 2 foot) for its platform would keep it portable and always ready to go. Have a good weekend. Cheers from Loveland, Ohio.

That’s where my head was at, just it’s own little foot. I don’t want it permanently mounted to the bench but it needs stability. I’m also wondering about some piece of metal with hooks I could just clamp in the vice but for simplicity a board is probably the way
@silverlicious2086
@silverlicious2086 3 жыл бұрын
Here is my 2 cents worth... a 3/4 inch thick sturdy wood platform would give you the option of taking the whole thing to a different location (i.e. truck tailgate on a nice day) and be up and running immediately. And with the wood, you could even design/mount a special bracket to hold in place the dedicated drill you were talking about. Just a thought.
