Thunder Beach to Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2024. onto the next one.

Up with the sun so that we can get on the road early to head to Myrtle Beach.
We dealt with some fog coming out of Panama City and even across I 10 until we got through Tallahassee
We followed Tenne through the Jacksonville bypass got a 95 and headed north into Georgia
We stopped at exit one in Georgia to get some coffee. Use the restroom and clean the windshield and I down some lunch while I had the moment.
Then we continued up I-95 into South Carolina and then exited onto US Highway 17 that took us through Charleston Georgetown and finally in the Murrels Inlet.
Once we got here, we dropped the trailer in a position so that it will be ready for us to unload tomorrow. And then we parked in level Goliath and his home for the next two weeks.
Then it was off to taco Tuesday with some friends

Adam and Katie, I am sure you remember the restaurant you went to with all the boats inside called Original Benjamin's. Please don't go back there. That is one of the worse restaurants in Myrtle Beach. The one restaurant that is always the best and never changes is just up the road a quarter mile. North of the one you went to about a quarter mile on the left is Captain Bennetts. On the corner of Lake Arrowood Road and US 17. I don't know how much yall like seafood but this is the best you will find in Myrtle Beach. Not a large place you have to maze through but an old place well kept and great food. Like all other places that serve all you can eat crab legs, It is $50 per person. I know what I am talking about. You will not be disappointed.

We prefer Original Benjamins, not necessarily because we think the food qualities any better than the others, I have never been to the Bennett one that you speak of. However, we have a good friend that works for the Original Benjamins, he is the in-house shipwright that builds all of the fantastic models within so when we go there, it’s not really for the food. It’s to see Jimmy.

As a retired DOT employee in South Carolina I have seen this problem many times with road not being finished. Several factors can play into this picture. If it is a Federal highway, money can be a problem. Usually the state will put in a part of the money but the Fed will pay the most. There can also be bidding problems getting the right contractor to do the job. Economy plays a part in that. Another problem can be with environmental ding bats holding up progress with things like wet lands. In the case of this road, who knows.

After the transmission failed here in Myrtle Beach last year, I got it home and unloaded it from the trailer and it’s still parked right next-door the trailer parks when we are home

Glad you made it safely to Myrtle, I spend a week in Pawleys island every summer with my sons, we never have tried Habanero's but have driven past it many times. We will give it a try in June this year. I hope you have a prosperous week, and all stay safe.

@@amsoiladam It is very quaint, quiet, island-like, and gator-friendly.😉 Bicycles are the best vehicles to use. Many bike paths to see the island and beaches. The roads are paved, but very narrow, twisty, and full of speed-bumps. Nice and quiet, but would not be friendly for Goliath.😲☺

Hi another great video nice road trip. Always wondered what’s the noise on Goliath when slowing down is it engine breaking don’t here anything like that on Rigs in UK 👍

Good question! We call it a Jake break, but that’s more of a slang term because the system was created by the JACOBS company. And technical terms it is called a dynamic engine break. As the compression engine fires, the system will open up an exhaust valve in the cylinder to allow the combustion pressure to escape through the exhaust system. This way, the engine is not producing any power to the drive line instead, the the engine acts as resistance to the driveline, slowing the vehicle down

We enjoy the vids very much but, the segments when you’re enroute and you’re talking the audio is not good. Too much engine noise and/ or wind noise. A mic attached closer would really help. Keep’em coming . Hope to see you again in Sturgis.
